The Terrible Journalism & Tom English Thread

In the Sunday Herald's sensational 130 word "report" on the Falkirk/QOS game yesterday (as part of their "round-up, natch) there are two glaring errors.

First, the QOS keeper was named as Gaston, when it was clearly the ever irritating and badly positioned Lee Robinson.

Secondly, and unforgivably imo, they described this affront to the beautiful game as "entertaining". The only entertaining thing about yesterday was the lad winning £1800 in the crossbar challenge and the whole place going nuts.

Charlie Richmond seems to think Dynamo Kiev are Russian.

If only there had been some sort of war recently to put Kiev into international prominence to let those who failed foundation geography know where it is.

Loved this on the main BBC site. This morning they had the following two clips in their Gossip column, one above the other...

Brighton boss Chris Hughton wants action to increase the number of black managers in England. (Argus)

Former QPR and Burton Albion boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has turned down the chance to manage League One Coventry City. (Coventry Telegraph)

Went on later to check something and the JFH piece has been moved down the page including a Daily Star page inbetween them.

This is from the BBC's live reporting page, it shows just how much they care about sides outwith the OF:

'Leigh Griffiths and Moussa Dembele played together in Tuesday's win over Hamilton but it's fair to say the strikers did not click and today it is the latter who drops to the bench.

Skipper Scott Brown is suspended as manager Brendan Rodgers makes five changes, with Stuart Armstrong taking the captain's armband.

Dundee manager Paul Hartley makes two changes.'
