TheScarf
In the Record the other day Barry Ferguson was saying in his column that Rangers had turned a corner under Gerrard. Before they had played a competitive game under his leadership. Silly fud that he is.

EdTheDuck
I don't know if the Scottish BBC are just awful fucking journalists or genuinely stupid but they still don't understand the League Cup points system.

I see the BBC have now corrected the table from the erroneous one above. Would this be because they trawl P&B for opinions & news or because someone at BBC Scotland pointed out the error? I think we all know the answer to that
7-2
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/scotland/44816257 The BBC at their professional best. Rob Maclean - '...and it came off the hand of the number 12 with the unpronounceable name'. He later basically celebrated when the guy was sent off as he didn't have to try and say his name again. The surname was Trondargjogv Hansen. If the twat found it that difficult then he could simply have referred to Hansen. It's 2018 but journos and commentators still think it's hilarious to struggle over Johnny foreigner names. Instead it just demonstrates their ignorance/arrogance/laziness. It wouldn't have taken much effort to find out how to pronounce it either.

That's one of my bugbears about this kind of nonsense, the BBC having a pronunciation department being the main one. Other new fangled technology like the telephone could be used if they haven't discovered the internet. Of course that would mean actually doing some research and pre-match preparation. If all else fails how about having a quick word one of the travelling party at the game given they'll be there in plenty of time. There is simply no excuse for a professional journo/broadcaster to not be able to pronounce names properly.

Basically a minimum of effort yet they can't be arsed.

A mate of mine's uncle did some stadium announcements for the SRU, and ended up doing a Samoa v Romania game (or something along those lines, possibly at a 7s). He used to go and ask the press officer or team manager from each country to spell everything phonetically (fo-net-ih-kahl-ee), and then went off those notes. Professional commentators, especially longstanding ones like Rob McLean, getting away with not bothering is ridiculous.
