Hearts edged out East Stirlingshire 5-4 in an entertaining game at Ochilview tonight. Hearts had led 3-1 and 4-2 but ES levelled with just three minutes to go, however Hearts hit back with the winner two minutes into stoppage time.

Hearts fielded what was virtually an U18 side with one older player, as their top youngsters were saved for first team duties.

Morton winning it 2-0 at Forfar.

Missed penalty by Forfar at 0-1 right on half time was a game changer. Morton had the best of the first half and Forfar were more into it in the second. Stand out performer was probably the Morton left winger - Quitongo Jnr.

A sending off each in the second half opened the game right up and Forfar seemed to cope a bit better than Morton to being a man down.

Queen of the South beat Edusport Academy 2-1 at Palmerston. Goals from Aidan Smith and Richard Murray. Queens led 1-0 until the French lads levelled with two mins to go but Murray's powerful header from a free kick four minutes into injury time won it in dramatic fashion.

Saints are the only team to beat Celtic in this competition since February 2009, so clearly a very difficult tie there if it materialises but Accies have proved themselves one of the better sides in the Development League over the past few seasons too.
