If so by how much and what the expected voting numbers? it was held by labour before and was classed as a safe before UKIP took it in may but the UKIP councilor is moving so it forced a by election its between UKIP and Labour Newington- results Mo Leys (UKIP)- 884 - elected Vince Munday (UKIP)- 845- elected Karen Constantine (LAB)- 728 David Green (LAB)- 713 Daphne Sharp (CON)-390 Jill Bayford (CON)- 363 were the results in MAY Big shock in Newington Labour stronghold Newington has gone purple! Classed as an SNP hold but given previous first preference votes more like a gain Classed as SNP hold as it was my SNP branch colleague Cllr Lynne Adams passing away that triggered the by-election. It's a 4 member ward - the other 3 councillors being Labour so this was a must win.
