Elixir
Anyone else watching Cilic and del Potro in the Davis Cup Final? Some match.
Elixir
What a win for del Potro. Can't believe that's his first ever come back from two sets down. Really hope Argentina go on and take the title. Edited November 27, 2016 by Elixir

Really hope Argentina go on and take the title. One of the best matches I've seen. And the amount of wids in crowd was unbelievable. Far too many for picture posts

Distant Doonhamer
Tremendous display by Delbonis in the deciding rubber. 2sets up and with double break in the 3rd, He has been superb. ayrmad
Missed the final but surely barring injuries Del Potro is going to take really high order next season, I really see him being a top 4 player at some point next year.
gingerjag
He is certainly capable of top 4 next year. Where is he ranked now? No doubt he's the danger man nobody will fancy playing especially the top seeds drawing him early doors..

From what I can see he's defending 410 points between now and August. Edited November 28, 2016 by ayrmad
Elixir
Hopefully in Novak's section at the Australian Open. Edited November 28, 2016 by Elixir
Loki
JMDP broke his finger in the fourth set against Cilic. I really feel for him if points were awarded for Davis Cup and Olympics he would be top 20. He is currently 38th and unlikely to make a seeding in the Australian Open. There really could be some stinky draws in the Australian Open. You think Djokovic would like this? 1st Round Verdasco, 2nd Round Del Potro, 3rd Round Querrey 4th Round Federer, QF Nishikori, SF Wawrinka, F Murray Of course you have Federer who is sitting on 16th in the World who will drop 150 points before the Australian Open likely taking him out of the top 16. Some really stinky draws could happen, but it will mean some spectacular games early on. Certainly has the potential for a great grand slam already.

No surprise, they're as grounded as you're going to be as top level sports stars.

Been getting a bit of a semi about the potential for a few early doors heavy weight clashes too.. Like you say with Federer potentially dropping out of the top 16 ahead of Oz, Murray or Djokovic could conceivably end up with all of Nadal, Federer and Del Potro in their quarter. Ouch.
The-coo-shed
Is Federer's ranking protected from the date got injured?
Loki
A protected ranking only allows you automatic entry into the main draw. So Del Potro for instance was able to use protected ranking status to get automatic entry into the main draw when his world ranking was 1000 or so. As Federer's ranking is high enough to allow automatic entry and still be seeded, a protected ranking doesn't apply to him.
