Goanjock
Hopefully Andy and Jamie are just trying to wear Del Potro out for tomorrow

It'll happen, lads. haha I should have read this before I posted almost the same thing oops
dogmc
Fair play to the pair of them for digging out that win. Should still be Argentina to win the tie but if they don't imagine there will be some queries about del potro playing doubles after that long match yesterday

Can't see a win unless del potro gets injured or seriously runs out of gas
Diamonds are Forever
Don't understand Argentina playing Del Potro today. A rested Del Potro would routinely beat Edmund or Evans and it would be tie over. Instead he's played 8 hours of tennis in two days and has to come out tomorrow to win it for them (assuming Murray wins). He should manage anyway, but for a guy with his injury record it was a needless risk to take. peasy23
Very surprised to put it on today and see Delpo playing. The Argies are in a worse position than GB at doubles in that they don't have any doubles specialists, like GB have with Jamie. Can't blame them for trying to finish the tie asap, they'll be well aware that they can't take anything for granted and that strange things can happen, like Ward beating Isner last year. Can only hope that Andy Murray has enough in the legs to win the first game tomorrow.
Lichtie95
See theres talk that Del Potro might not play the 5th rubber, no idea if its true, cant see him not playing if they need the win to decide the tie!

Was about to post this. It is surprising, buthe has apparently said that prolonging his career is more important that one match, which everyone has interpreted as him not playing tomorrow.

Never heard that, but would explain why he played the doubles if true. Knew he wouldn't be playing Sunday so wanted to kill the tie in the doubles. We'll see.

Surely if he wanted a rest the doubles would have been the one to miss.....if only because it was more likely to go to 4 or 5 sets and he would expect to beat either Evans or Edmund in 3?

I think he will play. Delpo is a class act.. a 80% fit Delpo would easily beat Evans or Edmund. It would be the same as Andy playing Evans or Edmund. Only 1 winner.Delpo=Murray

Still going to be really touch to turn this around but COME ON GB (I am heading up to Inverness shortly in the hope of getting a ticket so record has been set).
