Joey Jo Jo Junior Shabadoo
It definitely seems that Djokovic's oxygen tent isn't working as well these days.

Anyway, well done, Andy. Fantastic achievement. I think Queens and Wimbledon changed a lot of people's perceptions of him. He hadn't received much media coverage over here and there was a lot of the "boring servebot" type of negative comments aimed at him as a result of his style of play. Comments which are still totally valid, I suppose, but the fact he came across as a genuinely decent guy when he finally did get some air time, and that he's obviously someone that Murray gets on well with, changed the way a lot of people thought.
The Chlamydia Kid
Who cares if he happens to be ranked number one at this particular time period? Tennis, like any sport, is about winning trophies not momentarily finding yourself at the top of a rankings system. Djokovic is the best player in the world. He is now and he will always be remembered as a far superior tennis player to Murray. It's is absolute ridiculous the level of celebration because he finds himself at number one. Belgium were number one in the FIFA world rankings a few months ago- have they ever at any point in their history been the best team in the world?? Have they fvck! What do you think they'd rather have? A euros/World Cup win? Or be able to say they've topped the world rankings momentarily. -
Sooky
7 years and 2 months after becoming world number 2, he finally gets there! To be fair, it would have been a travesty if he was stuck in this list once he'd retired.
Scary Bear
Aye, becoming the No.1 ranked player is nothing to shout about. [emoji1][emoji23]

Right now, Murray is absolutely a superior player to Djokovic, and only a troll or someone who doesn't really know what they're talking about would state otherwise. The comparison with the FIFA rankings is nonsense as well. Tennis rankings actually make sense, for a start.

Ira Gaines
The level of consistency it takes to make that achievement makes the achievement worth celebrating. It's not rocket science. Of course, this is probably just the "Scotland lol" trolling from a usual suspect.
Wile E Coyote
Can't believe the people writing off Djokovic. Remember Caroline Wozniaki has been world No 1 and she has won f**k all of note -

Truly childish stuff.

If winning trophies is all that matters, Djokovic has won one tournament since June. In the same time period Murray has won Queens, Wimbledon, Olympics, Beijing, Shanghai, Vienna and will more than likely win Paris tomorrow. Andy as the world's highest ranking tennis player is a fantastic achievement - especially as the 2nd oldest to achieve it.

Possibly up there with the worst bit of comparatives I've ever read. And I've seen the Brexit thread. You obviously completely missed the bit where Murray has won many, many trophies.
