Getting introduced on court etc as 'Sir Andy Murray' seems a bit odd. Be cool if he came on court with a bag of tennis racquets and a big f**k-off sword though

Whether that strength is derived from food intake or ahem other sources is the real issue.

As for Haye, he hasn't really done much since he turned vegan....still a big bloke though! I do find it amusing that a guy involved in blood sport doesn't like hurting animals though. TheScarf
It's a complete myth that vegans aren't strong. They still get just as much protein as meat eaters and vegetarians. It's worrying how many people think protein comes exclusively from meat and eggs.

Loki
Andy Murray 2016 Andy Murray started the year in the Hopman Cup an exhibition tournament but still ranked by the ITF. He had a surprise loss to Nick Kyrgios but got enough matches to take him in to the Australian Open. He waltzed past Zverev, Groth, Sousa, Ferrer and Tomic before running into Milos Raonic. A new improved Raonic who started to move forward more under Carlos Moya. In one of the best Grand Slam matches of the year, Raonic was ground down by Murray's superior defence and beaten in five sets. Murray was through to face his nemesis in the final. On the eve of the Final Murray went and watched his brother secure his first Grand Slam trophy when his new partnership with Bruno Soares delivered what was missing from his doubles career. Jamie also noted that he should have been in his bed. He was meant to have defied Mauresmo by going to the match. This would be a relationship that would break down over the next two months. He took on Jamie Delgado as a secondary coach, and Mauresmo was seen not even in the players box in Miami. He was surprisingly beat in Miami and Indian Wells and that lead to the following quote from Elixir: He's finished. Clearly doesn't have the hunger that the likes of Djokovic and Federer have. Probably can't be arsed. Mauresmo was next seen in Madrid and after being beaten in the final by Djokovic he ditched Mauresmo and in the very next event was able to beat Djokovic in Rome to win his first of three Masters in 2016. A very mixed start to the French Open saw him play himself into form and absolutely nullified a very potent Stan Wawrinka in the semi final. That was his best performance of the year. But Novak would await in the final after a blistering start seen him take the first set, his lack of game plan saw Djokovic take the next two sets. He was a double break down in the fourth set, and started to play a lot better. I think it was that lack of game plan that saw him needing something extra in his team. Delgado had worked wonders with his serve but the in game strategy and how to out think opponents wasn't really in his repertoire at that point. So the tennis world was shocked to see Ivan Lendl back in time for the grass season. That began a 21 winning streak that would see him win Queens, Wimbledon, Olympic Gold and lose in the final to Cincinatti. Going into the US Open he looked imperious but he was met by an outstanding Kei Nishikori in the quarter final. He really had chances to win that match, and should have, but Kei produced his best at the tail end of the match to take the win. Another match of the year contender awaited in the Davis Cup when Del Potro took him over five hours in Glasgow. Del Potro prevailed in five sets. Worth noting that that the defeats Murray got, his opponents were absolutely fucked. He grinds everyone down and makes them work extremely hard. A break followed and then something clicked in Murray. He won his next 25 matches (two walk overs) to claim the last five titles of he year. Beating everyone in his wake. Djokovic floundered with injuries, and couldn't get far enough to take on this new Lendl effect Murray. He went into the WTF as world number one for the first time, and knew he had to better than Djokovic to clinch the year end number one. He beat the year end #6, #5, #4, #3 and #2 to win the WTF for the first time. In a year where a male tennis player held all four Slams, that wasn't good enough to clinch the number one spot. Let that sink in. The years both Novak and Andy have had have been utterly stunning. Bring on 2017 already.
