The-coo-shed
Some year it has been for Shapovalov. From cunting the umpire in the eye to being the youngest ever player to reach a Masters 1000 semi-final. [emoji38] Really pleased for him. That umpire incident could've affected him but he's played really well this week.
Elixir
Alex Zverev continues to look like the real deal. Seemed like there was something up with Federer as well.
peasy23
Federer has pulled out of Cincinnati with a sore back, meaning Nadal is guaranteed to be world number 1 next week.
TheScarf
You can't grudge him it it either. He and Federer have raised the bar yet again, even in the veteran stages of their careers. Also, props to Alex Zverev. He really is a top boi. His backhand is a work of art IMO.

John Lambies Doos
Any word on Murray? Is his US open participation looking good?
Nightmare
Fair play to Dimitrov, but check the absolute state of that field. His first real title, and it's come at an event where there was no Federer, Murray, Djokovic, Wawrinka, Cilic, Nishikori or Raonic. Strongest players in the field were Rafael Nadal on hard court (), Dimitrov, Thiem and Zverev. Fucking hell.
Nightmare
Just now, John Lambies Doos said: Any word on Murray? Is his US open participation looking good? Everything seems to point to him playing, right now.
Loki
He was training on Arthur Ashe last night. As he is in New York and training I would assume he will be playing. He will wait until the draw anyway I would imagine. As bad as the field was Kyrgios was in good form, but at no point did Kyrgios really believe he was going to win. Dimitrov just did what Murray does to Kyrgios, give him a different ball each time and extract the error. If you continue to give Kyrgios the same ball, he will eventually hit a winner from it.

John Lambies Doos
Training on Armstrong last night. Ivan looks fucked. Any word on the hip? Has it completely cleared up. Based on other injury/casualties; Murray has a fantastic chance if fully fit

Elixir
Updated it now. Federer has that Tiafoe laddy in the first round. Did they not have a really good match in Indian Wells or Miami this year? He could play Kyrgios in the fourth round as well, then Thiem in the quarters. Nadal has a decent draw but Dimitrov in the quarters could be a tough one for him. If del Potro had wound up as a third round opponent for either Nadal or Federer it would have been a near enough perfect draw on paper.
John Lambies Doos
Good draw for Murray. First Round: Sandgren Second Round: Dutra Silva/F. Mayer Third Round: Schwartzman Fourth Round: Pouille/Ferrer Quarter-Final: Tsonga Semi-Final: A. Zverev/Cilic Final: Nadal/Federer That's a cracking draw tbf. Not sure that cilic is 100% fit but zverev could pose a lot of problems. Also, not sure Tsonga will make QF. As for 4th round Murray has an amazing record against French players and Ferrer dogged as he is, shouldn't pose a problem. All in all decent draw and hopefully a Fed/ Nadal 5 setter in semi
Nightmare
So Djokovic, Wawrinka, Raonic, Nishikori all out & Cilic not 100%. Why was this never the situation when Murray himself was at full strength? It's still Fed's tournament to lose, but Murray is right in there with a shout. That's a generous draw, which will allow him to lose a bit of the rust from not having played since Wimbledon.
