Lex
Absolutely he’d rather play Ruud than Isner. Proof of it is Ruud is already out and he can’t get near Isner’s serve. If he wins he will overtake the record for most wins from two sets down. He’s got on top of Isner’s serve every other time he’s played him, which is why he always beats him. Unlike the youngster Ruud, Isner never has been - and never will be - in a grand slam final. That third set should be the turning point, if Murray’s body can last five sets. Two long past it old guys going the distance. Plenty of errors and good fun coming up, and tired legs afterwards. Jannik Sinner will surely beat whoever the winner is in the next round.

If a player touches it before it bounces it would be the opponents point. That doesn't sound like a rule at all. Since plenty of shots reach the ball boys on the fly. As long as the ball boy is clearly off the court then you lose the point.

Federer wins the point as the ball boy catches a ball that didn't bounce but was clearly out.

Yes but it is a slam final on clay. Ruud has barely won a match on grass in his career. Murray would have loved to take his number 3 seeding.

So if someone skies a volley right up into the crowd and a fan catches it, that's a let, aye?
Jim McLean's Ghost
Just now, Loki said: That proves nothing. The ball isn't dead until it bounces twice. It proves that historically they don't replay points when the ball boy catches the ball. Which was the quite frankly ludicrous suggestion
craigkillie
The ITF rules of tennis suggest that the point is lost if it hits "an object outside the correct court". I would assume that a ballboy or spectator would count as such an object https://www.itftennis.com/media/7221/2022-rules-of-tennis-english.pdf

Which was the quite frankly ludicrous suggestion Yeah I retract that. You are correct. The backstop and sidestop (fences), spectators, ballboys and officials are considered permanent fixtures. The point ends when the ball hits them.
