What Stadiums Have You Visited

I thought I was an anorak with 210 and then I saw Rab's post!! Don't think you'll ever beat Jim Kidd's record though Rab! ;)

Of the Scottish League I haven't made it yet to ICT, Peterheid, Elgin and the new St Mirren one and one other I won't step foot in.

I've been to football and been shopping in Muirton Park, Douglas Park and Brockville!

Done all Lowland League/East of Scotland League, mostly watching City (except Dun's' new ground, City haven't played there yet. I saw them play Hawick).

Done most of the Lothian and Fife juniors, quite a lot of Glasgow, some Ayrshire, a couple of Aberdeen Juniors, some Tayside clubs and Spey Valley.

In Europe I've been to Nou Camp, San Mames and the San Marino Ground. And a sort of German Junior club, SC Urbach.

Been to quite a few English grounds including the defunct McCain Stadium, Underhill and the ridiculously huge ground Darlington had.

On a recent holiday to Wales I did Conwy, Llandudno and Prestatyn Town.

last game at Underhill- the legendary Edgar Davids playing for Barnet.

a typically lovely day at K Park, East Kilbride

 ... I've asked Jim how many he's been to but he won't let on! He must be in 4 figures?

10/12 in the Premiership

8/10 in the Championship

4/10 in League 1

2/10 in League 2

Think the grounds visitors are simply indicative of where saints have played during my lifetime. Other than that been to various others. The obvious others like Sunderland and Newcastle, with foreign grounds visited with saints there too. Ohh and Fiorentina, one Monday evening a few years back.

I hope none of you are counting visits when there was no game. It only counts if you were at a match.

Correct. I've been to several grounds for a look about on non match days, but if I didn't see a game then they don't make the list. Them's the rules.

That's off the top of my head, there's probably a few in Scotland I've missed out. I had a thing a few years ago whereby I wanted to get to every ground in Scotland and used to go to random games to tick grounds off. Can't really be arsed with that now, so will just have to wait until Clyde play them. Would definitely go to a few more games down south if I could afford it, and I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to a stadium abroad for the Scotland game on Sunday so will hopefully get to a few more of them in the next campaign.

Not going to list every ground in Scotland I have been to, simply because there are too many. I've been to around 30 of the senior grounds and at least 40 junior grounds I can think of off the top of my head. One perhaps unusual stat is that I have seen Clydebank as the home side at at least 8 different grounds:

Kilbowie Park, Clydebank

Boghead Park, Dumbarton(Clydebank as the home side for a few seasons)

Firhill, Maryhil (Scottish Cup game v Celtic)

Cappielow, Greenock(Clydebank, again as home side for a few seasons)

Glenhead Park, Clydebank

Holm Park, Clydebank

Millburn Park, Vale of Leven (Home game moved there for some reason, on a couple of occasions)

Newlandsfield Park, Pollok (Home game moved, again I can't recall why)

I think I possibly attended a Clydebank "Home" match at Lochburn, Maryhill as well but I'm not certain.

ETA: Having checked, I was right about Lochburn. We also played a home match at McKenna Park(St Anthony's ground) which I would have been at as well, though I'm struggling to remember it. Been told there was also a "home" match in Stirling v Dundee Utd. That one I didn't attend.

The Bankies' match at Stirling was a Scottish Cup replay v Dundee. There had been a 1-1 draw at Kilbowie on the Saturday, but a pitch invasion after Jim Hamilton's equaliser meant that Dundee had to find a neutral venue x miles from Dundee for the replay.

Outwith Scotland.

Brunton Park Carlisle. Have seen Carlisle in all 4 divisions in England. Didn`t see a game in Conference season.

Old Trafford.

St James Park Newcastle.

White Hart Lane.

Highbury. (Also been to Emirates but not for a match, work related conference)

Stamford Bridge.

Craven Cottage.

Loftus Road.

Wembley.

Ullevi Stadium Gothenburg. (Aberdeen v Real Madrid).

King Baudouin Stadium, Brussels (Belgium 2 Scotland 0 2001)

La Rosaleda Malaga. (Malaga v Barca 2014)

Stadio Delle Alpi Turin (Brazil v Scotland 1990 World Cup).

Stadio Luigi Ferraris Genoa (Scotland v Sweden 1990 World Cup).

Stade Geoffroy Guichard Saint Etienne (Morocco v Scotland 1998 World Cup :( )

Estade Gerland Lyon (Iran v USA 1998 World Cup).

Also went to Bordeaux v PSG 1983-84 season.

I`ve also been to Birmingham City and WBA which were both used as venues for recruitment for work related reasons but haven`t seen a game at either.

Haven`t been to all senior grounds in Scotland. Still to do Elgin, Peterhead plus new St Mirren stadium.

Of the now defunct grounds in Scotland I`ve been to Brockville, Shawfield, Muirton Park, Annfield, Firs Park, Broomfield. Love Street, Boghead. Kilbowie Park. Edit to add Old Bayview and Douglas Park (old). Also Meadowbank Stadium when Meadowbank Thistle played there.
