Ludo*1
I got rid of my expensive watches about a year or so ago. Also had the option of receiving a £7k watch or a £3k watch from my grandfather when he passed, but I chose the cheap Casio as that's the one he always chose to wear. (The other 2 stayed within the family and won't be worn or sold in any case) Can't remember the types or I'd have posted them on here. All I wear these days is one of these three: Both are quite tidy and under £90. Missus also bought me this about a year ago:

As we were very young it inevitably got overwound and sat in a drawer for 30 years until I decided to get it fixed. I offered it back to my sister but she says she just breaks watches so it's mine now. It's not worth a lot but I like the 1970s style and the fact it's a wind up meaning I don't have to buy batteries. Also I know I have a horrible arm. A watch that has sentimental value is priceless. Far more meaningful that dropping £10K+ for a watch just because it looks nice.

Never have to adjust time. I particularly like the links and the physical size of the watch. Between women and men's size. Always get a pro to change battery so I can continue to wear as waterproof. The Tag Heuer S/EL has got to be the most comfortable watch bracelets ever. I think Tag Heuer made a big mistake ‘squaring off‘ the links for their Link series bracelets. I’ve still got my S/EL and the brochure it came with. Just missing the box it would appear
greendot
Opted for something a bit different. A couple of jump hour watches from the 70s and a mystery dial from the 80s.

Read that it's a radio room dial. £45 Replying to an old post, but that's not a Radio Room dial. Radio Room dials have an offset red or black cross across the face.

Amazon included a import fees deposit , cost roughly £150 for the watch £30 for import and £8 for quicker delivery. Only European Recraft seller I could find wanted €330 , the robbing fecker.

Bairney The Dinosaur
Has anyone done any watch building? I see that Kartel have a watch building 'experience', but I can't tell whether it's just picking out a strap and sticking it together.
Arch Stanton
I think the capacitor on my Seiko kinetic auto-relay is giving up the ghost. I've not been wearing it much since I bought a Samsung Galaxy and I'm now getting the 2 second sweep and the "correct time upon shaking" no longer works.

Wouldn't want an apple watch etc myself but some of the specs would be really handy in a day to day watch. Really liking the look of this in particular https://us.kronaby.com/nord/46-nord-38mm.html Not a big watch guy - got a bog standard casio for a stopwatch, a skagen pretty similar to above that I got with money family gave me for my 21st as a day to day, and had a nice citizen gold/silver strap one that was nicked when I got mugged (was a graduation present from my parents so I still feel guilty about it). As I say, I'm curious about the above but happy to be told they're a waste of time. Like the idea and look, but my phone's not busy enough to make it worthwhile. Other brand here.
