NorthernLights
http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35049771 I can't really see UEFA letting them join but it'll be interesting to see how it goes for them all the same.
HibeeJibee
It won't happen for 2 reasons: (1) - Channels Islands are part of English football: their players get capped for England, their clubs play in their pyramid, Inter-League & FA cups, etc. One of Gibraltar's arguments was their lack of any alternative opportunity. (2) - UEFA changed their rules to disallow non-sovereign states. Gibraltar got around this because they applied before the rules were changed. Yep, the great irony being that under the current rules Scotland wouldn't be allowed to join.
tamthebam
Should be easy to beat them- their only tactic is to play the ball down the Channel. And will the Jersey national stadium have jumpers for goalposts?
dogmc
Yep, the great irony being that under the current rules Scotland wouldn't be allowed to join. It's not ironic at all....if it wasn't for Scotland n England there wouldn't be international football....or are you arguing England currently wouldn't be allowed to join eufa? ? LongTimeLurker
Was under the impression that Channel Island players can choose to play for any of the four home nations. They won't get in because FIFA now link membership to UN recognition.
Ivo den Bieman
Guernsey are doing it better, trying to launch their team up the pyramid. Currently stuck in Ryman League Div 1 South but can see them making it to Conference South level within a few years. Much more productive way to go IMO than regularly being tanked by Belarus and Macedonia in front of 500 fans.
mizfit
Can we no kick the Welsh out and give their membership to Jersey?

Mr Bairn
Leave the Welsh and kick those b*****ds Georgia out. Instead of scrapping trident we should just throw them at Georgia, that'll teach em

HibeeJibee
Apparently 49 voted against, 5 didn't vote, Faroese abstained (some reports say Iceland). Unsure why their only stadium having their only athletics track "meaning 2 sports could not be held at once" was a factor, tbf.
Craig fae the Vale
Unsure why their only stadium having their only athletics track "meaning 2 sports could not be held at once" was a factor, tbf. I think that was in reference to there not being football at the Island Games in Gibralter
