Hibs v Queens

Recommended Posts

Only with the agreement of the other team, it's not the ref's place to make that decision.

But yeah, it's done with, Queens lost primarily because their defence screwed up. Time to move on.

Darren brownlie.. that ayr fan was right about him.

f**k sake let it go. We had the ball when the ref stopped it and he only stopped it because Kyle Hutton was being a cheating wee ***. You got what you deserved.

Is the correct answer. Queens and Hutton only have themselves to blame, the ref called their bluff after ten mins of time wasting and basically cheating. I wonder what side Lyle and Hutton support?

It used to not be the refs decision but nowadays it seems to be. I've seen refs tell players not to contest s drop ball

Dropped ball

Any player may challenge for the ball (including the goalkeeper). There is no minimum or maximum number of players required to contest a dropped ball. The referee cannot decide who may or may not contest a dropped ball.

Explicit and unequivocal from the current guidance to referees in the laws of football.

It just goes to show how crap the rest of the game was when all the discussion after it centres on the last couple of minutes and the aftermath. Mistakes were made, the Ref will probably look back on his last game and think he could have handled the situation better. Queens weren't switched on or weren't given the opportunity to switch on at the drop-ball but what team that was looking to win a game wouldn't have done the same as Hibs in the same situation. It boils down to the defence not dealing with a cross into the box. That's maybe the reason why Queens always fall just short, nicey, nicey doesn't win games, taking any advantage when it is offered to you often helps.

Anyway, surely the subject has been discussed to death, the result wont change and we should move on to our next test.

It was an absence of nicey niceyness on our part, that meant Hutton had to leave the field.

I'd rather we just tried to play towards the end of these games, rather than sit in and waste time.
