NorthernLights
They collapsed not long after they signed Eto'o i think? http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/dec/11/anzhi-makhachkala-kerimov-dagestan-withdrew-funding-trophies They got relegated at the end of the 2013/14 but won promotion back to the top flight for this season. Having checked the league table they are currently hovering just above the automatic relegation places.

Reid
Fair enough. Wonder how long it will be before the next Scottish player ends up there. My money will be on Ross McCormack. Steven Fletcher.
Sloop John B
The John Terry race begins for which MLS club becomes his retirement home. Hope he ends up in a Midwest shithole. Meanwhile Osman Sow looks to be leaving Hearts for China. Who are probably aiding Scottish Football a lot more than any English team at the present.

Sloop John B
Jackson Martinez moves to Gangzhou Evergrande for £31m. He's now the 5th best player in the world now. Atletico did very well getting so much for him considering he really didn't fit their system at all, the only strange bit is the timing. Aren't Atletico and Real both about to go under a transfer embargo? Edited February 3, 2016 by Sloop John B
Deeboy
In the summer, yeah. I thought he'd only leave if Falcao signed.

DigOutYourSoul
Hopefully the standard of the league as a whole continues to increase as a result of this - more and more talented players will continue to move here, especially with the Brasilian league in bits. I'm all for leagues around the world increasing their standards - albeit spending fortunes in the process.
mjw
5live had a decent report on the Chinese league on deadline day. There are companies and billionaires who are pumping money into the game because it's the presidents favourite sport. They reckon it gets them into his good books. It seems as if it is some sort of insurance policy against falling out of favour.
