It was Keatings that missed the sitter at the end. Carmichael had a good chance from Stokes cross but stuck it just wide a bit earlier. Still don't know how Keatings missed that!!

God that's even worse. I was trying to make excuses for Dan as he's been out so long.

How bad were Rossi and Paterson! Paterson thinking he could pass 50yds was hilarious - he should have stuck to just hoofing it.

Cummings should have had a hatrick but the longer the game went on I was sure Hearts were going to equalise (and then go on to win).

Carmichael's miss at the end!!!!

Paterson was horrendous. Probably his worst games for Hearts ever. Rossi is a good centre half but not a footballer or a left back. Neilson being a complete spangle and signing a guy that has no business playing professional football means he's got to play there though.

Didn't think Rossi did much wrong other than be poor at the goal out wide. Obviously a crucial moment, though.

Hearts are the kings of hoofball football.

In the first half, certainly. When we stuck a second winger on however to balance the side it was a totally different story. Again: Neilson is a clown.

Hibs weren't much better at times in terms of hoofing it, mind. Twice Oxley punted it straight back to Alexander. Criminal.

Neutrals saying the atmosphere was brilliant, jambos slagging it off. Funny that.

Anyway, wasn't too impressed with how deep we were in the second half. We're capable of bossing this Hearts team, so sitting back and inviting them on seemed a strange one. Thankfully the defenders all did their job (what on earth has happened to Paul Hanlon this year?) and Hearts were absolutely pish, so all's well that ends well.

The main thing is we were 2-0 after 80 minutes last week and now we're in the next round. Lovely stuff.

On Hanlon, I've been someone hasn't really rated him in the past but this season he has been superb. Playing beside other good players has really brought him on. Out of contract at the end of the season, need that sorted asap.

Seemed a conscious decision to sit back. Bartley(?) dropped a lot deeper after Hearts started the second half well which allowed Hearts to dominate midfield and boss the territorial game. Didn't really create much though as Hanlon and McGregor played well.

Hibs tired themselves out and had no legs second half, Hearts completely dominated the second half but just couldn't score.

I don't expect us to be keeping the ball and dishing out the ole's for the whole game. The frustrating thing was it wasn't brilliant football from Hearts that wrestled the momentum away from us. We just seemed to stand off and leave them to it.

Anyway, that's nitpicking. We completely deserved it over the two games. Delighted with our cup performances this season.

I wondered if we might tire in the second half considering our game on Saturday evening and the rest that the Hearts players had.

all the midfielders looked spent although big Marv seemed to get a second wind at the end.

Over the 2 ties I think 3-2 was a fair reflection. Inverness will be tough.
