NotThePars
This tactic of drip feeding what you have allowing the target(s) in the firing line to just repeatedly incriminate themselves is more and more common yet Amber Rudd still constantly owned herself and ultimately made her position untenable. You could have put everything on there being direct evidence proving she knew and supported these targets but they were that desperate to control the narrative that they ended up making it ten times worse. Amateur stuff. Sajid Javid won’t be much better considering he’s already said he wants overseas students to leave as soon as they graduate.
Guest Bob Mahelp
Expect more stories on a similar vein over the next 5 years or so, as the UKIP policies which the Tories are so desperate to implement come home to roost. And this is only a taster of what we can expect once Brexit really kicks in.

Kaz
Remember back in 2013/2014 in the run up to the referendum when the Tories hated us Nats for 'creating division' between the people? That line might be a harder sell this time round.
Fullerene
We are now approaching that time of year when for an entire month the prime minister thinks people are saying nice things about her. "I love May - always sunny and warm." "Sorry dear - not you."

It was clear that some bright spark came up with and implemented a repatriation procedure, without thinking it through. The object was to deport as many as possible, as quickly as possible. The Windrush generation were not even considered until it was noticed they had been caught up in it. The Home Office didn't think about subtleties or exceptions. They just wanted to reach an arbitrary number of deportings to satisfy the hard of thinking.

Everyone in the Home Office would have known about this, from top to bottom, at least by when the Guardian started reporting on it. There was no way that Theresa May or Amber Rudd could not have known what was happening for at least 4 months. That's giving them them the credit of being utterly useless and not keeping track of complaints for years before.
