People make political choices on more than one cherry picked question.

Sad to say there were other options, like unemployment, health, pensions etc. I'm a bit doubtful about YouGov's methodology and motives but it makes depressing reading if valid.

Agreed, people generally make political choices that aren’t at all in line with the policies the parties stand for but for how they are packaged and portrayed.

Plenty of opinion polls show huge support for Tory policies, amongst no Tory voting Scots when presented without identifying what party they belong to. Yet historically it had been toxic to vote Tory in Scotland.

Similarly the massive outcry over the ‘hostile environment’ issue - when opinion polls show high levels of support across the UK and Scotland for the component policies of the ‘hostile environment’.

In a population of more than 500 million people, how easy is it for me to get myself heard.

Dead easy.  I just tap the nearest table and say "Excuse me.  I have something to say."

That’s one of the reasons people voted to “take back control”. Clear lines of accountability with MPs. Who can name their MEP? Or what issues they would represent them upon?

Huge support ? Think your generalisation here is wrong, there may be a few policies which maybe supported by a few non Tory voting Scots. It is toxic to vote for the Torus, because of their policies.

The presentation of a policy is a completely different proposition to the implementation. Universal credit for example,in theory sounds a fair idea, the reality is clear to see. Restricting child benefit to 2 kids will appeal to some, until the reality of implementation. As i said, voting Tory in Scotland especially, is toxic, because they are toxic.

Did you vote for Brexit out of interest TCK? This may be a silly question...

I spoiled my paper.

I had/have no time for the EU and it’s lack of accountability, lack of democracy and imposition of policy to benefit a few nations.

However, I didn’t want to give a free reign to those who wanted to leave so they can discard all sorts of workers rights and have some form of race to the bottom. My own life is also pretty good and I selfishly didn’t want any disruption.

What nations would you say the EU imposes policies to benefit?

I suspect one reason people might not know their MEP is because they can't think of why they would ever need to contact them.

"Oh my roof is leaking and I have noisy neighbours - better contact my MEP."

If it was an issue that concerned the MEP, I suspect most people would find that out from their MP first.

Similar to going to my GP first about some medical condition instead of going to a specialist.
