Berwick v Clyde

i think you hit the nail firmly on the head there Scott. As I said on another thread early in the season I think Ferguson's a smashing player and there's no doubt that Gemmell would have feasted on his crosses. But now that Ferguson's out then surely plan B would be to work the ball through the middle and use his strength to draw fouls or provide lay-offs to the likes of Gormley. In his formative years with QP when he had pace (genuinely!) he was able to run past defenders, but now he needs sharp passes played into his feet from close range before defenders can get in front of him.

Albion Rovers were brilliant in getting the best out of him that way, and for QP's sake i can only hope you still haven't found the magic formula in two weeks time, or again if we meet in the play-offs. On his day he's simply unstoppable at this level, but 50 yard passes to him ain't the answer.

You feeling okay Spidey?

Coff got his tactics spot-on on Saturday. We were lucky to go in ahead at half-time after Clyde sclaffed a few sitters high and wide, but intelligent to sit deep in the 2nd half and lure them on to a tight midfield line, which left a lot of space for our quicker players to exploit.

Not sure if it's their strip or not making them look hefty, but a few clyde players could do with a weightwatchers membership for Christmas.

1st paragraph very fair. at 3.45 on Saturday I couldn't believe we were not at least a couple of goals to the good. So wasteful, and how Kirkpatrick decided to opt out of putting into an open goal and passing to the offside gormley or how marsh missed that header - god knows.

2nd half, there wasn't enough of a reaction, but again credit goes to Berwick for allowing us to flatter to deceive and we didn't threaten at all. By pushing forward so much, it left spaces at the back and 3-0 was warranted in terms of game management but harsh in terms of overall clear chances.

At this stage of season, and with some of our players looking very weary, we need a boost from somewhere to make sure we get into playoffs. Oh for an early goal!

Heard Junior getting shouts of fatty - but the guy is just built like a rugby player, and is not fat at all. Higgins actually received the same sort of abuse from a muppet so called fan of our's earlier in the season, only for him to respond by lifting his shirt and showing how ripped he was.

agree with most ,dont really buy into this tired /weary Annan had the exact same amount of games over the period we had ,in fact did we not turn down the chance to play games earlier in the year?

we certainly need to get a lift from somewhere , does look a bit like we might have packed the tools away for the season (hope not )

would have liked to have heard what BF made of saturday but nothing on the website might be due to holidays as its run by volunteers

fingers crossed we spark back int action to make the play offs and take it from there

Not disputing if they should be tired or not, but they certainly look it. Would imagine our key players may be a year or two older than the Annan guys.

Fine thanks - just enjoying the novelty of actually being able to discuss football-related issues with a Clyde fan, but doubt I'll be afforded the same luxury next week if previous QP-Clyde match threads are anything to go by.

IF we get a play off spot. Whats the dates please.....

The semis are usually the Wed/Sat immediately after the last league game, and my long-term memory suggests it's the same the following week for the final, but dates are subject to short-notice change depending on how much money Alba want to fling at it.
