ONeils4Oyarder
That interview is frighteningly bizarre...apparently we've played well in large spells of the season but just been unlucky

Seems that way, one thing I took from his interview that was posted on the club social media channel was there's no chance he will divert away from the 352 system.
BigTamMuller
SR is starting to sound rather desperate with chat about bad luck - outwith the Rangers game, we've scored 1 goal at home if I'm not wrong? And you could count the amount of proper goalscoring chances we've had with your ten fingers, in those games. Could quite easily repeat a lot of what's been said over the last 10 days, but ultimately it's our, and Stephen Robinson's fault, that we are where we are, and not bad luck.

Hopefully it’s one of they Jim McLean 8 year deal efforts. Edited November 7, 2018 by Casagolda

Hopefully it’s one of they Jim McLean 8 year deal efforts. That's actually one of the more interesting Robinson interviews of late tbh. I note that Turnbull's agent was pressing for him to go out on loan but Robinson blocked that (thankfully I guess given he's properly dug us out a hole). I seem to remember reading that Robinson patched MacLean when he was asking to go on loan last season and it went the other way with him basically ending up sat on his arse for half a season. It kind of opens up the whole development debate. Thinking back to the some of the absolute heads-gone meltdowns from certain sections of the fanbase when Dom Thomas moved on it seems clear to me that guys like Cadden, Campbell and Turnbull have either established themselves or are establishing themselves in a way that the bold DT23 never did. Even Ben Hall made more of an impact in his short spell in the first team before jumping ship to Brighton u23s. Interesting to note Robinson mentions Hall in that interview too. Campbell's most recent contract was an extension in 2017 to take him up to 2021, so it was a 4 year deal (though he was already contracted until 2019). He was 19 at the time, same age as Turnbull is now. Depending on how the DOBs go in terms of development fees/compensation I wouldn't be surprised if it was a similar deal Turnbull was being offered. Hopefully Turnbull's one of a few of the #YoungMotherwell squad getting offered deals tbqh. It seems a sensible time to get it sorted. The meltdowns on Twitter and Steelmen Online when we got rid of DT23 were absolutely ridiculous tbqhwy. The guy was in and around the first team for 3-4 years, managed the sum total of one assist and never held down a place in the first team. He then went to Kilmarnock where he got a handful of appearances before getting turfed out on loan to the lower leagues at every opportunity. Consider me shocked that he's turned out to not be very good. Cadden came in and looked a bit shaky to begin with but then has made the most of what his strengths are i.e. his strength and engine to keep going for 90 minutes. Campbell is a battler in midfield who we all love. Hall looked promising but I think he was helped massively by having McManus in beside him. I mind in the 20s cup final he was rank rotten. It's obviously still very early days for Turnbull but he looks very, very good. He's got a level of composure on the ball that I can't remember seeing for years with us and the way he strikes a ball even to play passes around is superb. I'd love to see us get a few years on his deal and hope he improves more.
Al B
Turnbull's strike at the weekend was obviously a thing of beauty, but if you look beyond that what impressed me was, with the ball coming from behind him and on the wrong side, he had instinctive awareness of space, and without having to look down at the ball he's moved it through him and with a couple of touches, into a shooting position without even having to think about it or getting it tangled up in his feet. Now, all that sounds like something you should be able to take for granted from a professional in the top-league, but we all know that's not the case, and we've become accustomed to strikers needing 6 and 7 touches to set before even thinking about shooting (or hitting it into the stand), or midfielders dallying on the ball trying to decide what to do. tl;dr version - it's his instinctive technique and confidence in himself that impresses me most.

Absolutely. Pretty sure I've said it before on here but watching him on the park everything about him just makes him look like a natural footballer. The fact that he seems to play like he's in bullet time is a real treat too.
