Having done a good job historically doesn’t excuse the decision made about McCann. It’s a bag of shit and anyone can see it, if you choose not too that’s on you. The statement was two days too late and made after the anger of supporters was obvious. It should have been done a lot earlier.
Templar Saint
Whilst as supporters we have opinions on what players are worth and when they should be sold, we do not have the full facts. A player is only worth what someone is willing to pay and the current club have to make a decision regarding this offer. The chairman has given us an insight into how the decision was reached - others would not have done so. Whether this is due to fans pressure or not he has done it. No matter what we got for Ali and Jason the bottom line is they are no longer Saints players and appear to be happy with their respective moves which hopefully will see their careers kick on. Lets all get behind everyone at the club and support whoever gets put on the park as our team.

Theyellowbox
The interesting line was about the money being made for the playing squad. As other have said, it will not be fees for players as such, or well, not much of it, but I'd assume contracts will be a fair chunk of it. But, could it be spent beefing up the youth set up? Brown referenced this and while it is clearly producing, is there an option to step it up another level again?

Yes rumoured to have a liking for one of The OF in younger years, but he's grown up going to St Johnstone matches with his dad as chairman since the mid 80's. Goes to pretty much every match each season. Sometimes see him with directors on the train upto Inverness or Dingwall having a few bevvies, or seen them in the pub before matches at Dens. I don't know the guy other than in passing through going to away games, but folk can complain all they want about decisions etc, but I think you'd be struggling to put up a reasonable argument that he, or any of our directors, are not Saints fans. Absolutely correct.

The Real Saints
Reports from the Preston media seem to be suggesting there were no add-ons involved in the deal… Interesting.

Also that the sell on is on profit, which is far more normal than the suggestion you'd get 25% or whatever of any future sale.

Meesterrodriguez
But… but.. but.. Steve Broon said. I think we had our pockets dipped and tardy club statements won’t change that. It’s just disappointing.

The only benefit to selling him for such a rank rottenly low price is that 25% of the profit will pretty muchbe 25% of the next fee I guess

PauloPerth
The relevant paragraph from that Lancashire news article is: LancsLive believes that there is a sell-on clause in place on profit from any future sale - but in terms of add-ons, North End did not put pen-to-paper on any.
