He just gets it, in terms of the stratefy for growth and success. Tonight's fans forum reinforced this. One of the intersting things for me was when he spoke about 'juggernaut' pairings of players and their importance to the success on the pitch - whilst referencing Cambridge players, he linked this specifically to Sidibeh and Kimpioka. Firstly, from this it says to me that this pairing is vital for success on the pitch and he expects that pairing on the pitch - i.e. 2 up front. Secondly, in order to break up this 'juggernaut' of a team trying to sign Sidibeh, if rumours of interest are true, then Webb will not be a pushover and get a very good financial deal for Saints, otherwise any offers will be rejected. I feel this is a reassuring message. In terms of Webb's vision and timeline for this it feels that the avoidance of relegation this season is equally as vital as was last season. I feel that his optimism for the season ahead may be short lived (hope I am wrong) as the first few weeks go by but the onus is very much on Levein to produce an entertaining product on the pitch. Reckon Webb will be raging if there is only one striker on Monday, given Perth embracing Geoff Brown's send off with a near sell out and the potential for new / returning fans and the benefits of an entertaining game for future increased fan base. Sounds like he'd add in defence and in goals too is possible.
