Made the same comments about Falkirk when they played in Grangemouth and trained at Stirling Uni.

Where is the link with the town when the players cannae even be bothered to travel to the town the rest of the week for training.

Perfectly fair comment.

honestly couldn't give a toss where the players train tbh, as long as when they do visit town on a Saturday they are 100% motivated to give their best whilst wearing the shirt.

do you really think the current generation of players give a shit about the small towns they represent? At this level, they care about doing well for a club to try and be successful, and maybe get a move higher up. Players at this level will move for an extra £20 a week or a more generous expenses settlement.

Gary Fraser stayed with us this summer because we made him a great offer, and because he enjoys playing with the team group we have- money, being well looked after, and good team spirit. The town of Montrose itself doesn't really come into it.

Occasionally you will get someone like Sandy Wood who will play for the club because he's a fan and has a real affection for the place as well as local roots. These players are the exception rather than the rule these days.

Regardless of all that. Why make it more difficult to sign players and for the players you have to get to training. Ricky Little lives in Stevenston or something ffs. 5 hour plus midweek night round trip for training? Saying that he should atleast bother to do that. Why?

Places like Stirling, Perth and in our case Dundee are perfect for players coming from Edinburgh area/central belt/Glasgow and even Dundee and the North. If Stirling trained anywhere else other than Stirling it would be silly tbh. Don't use it as a terrible dig at other clubs though.
