Their defence went from piss poor to utter shite when he started playing and the only surprise was that they kept playing him, I think in the hope that he would find something approaching his old form. It was painful to watch him in all honesty, particularly in the games against Basel. ETA: He has lost what little pace he had but if he can pick up a bit of confidence may do a reasonable job in Scotland. The high line Rangers play would be a worry though.
