naegoodinthedark
Guys like Pele were only good because everyone else was so shite and unfit. Agree, he stood out in Escape To Victory only because everyone else had been in a death camp for years. Talentless arsehole, very much the Bobby Law of his generation. beermonkey
This should be fun. Let's go, name two better than him. Maradona messi. Easy, the fact that ronaldo is a whinging, diving, greasy slimy cry baby, who loves himself more than anyone could ever love him will always count against him. Great player.... but nowhere near the best.
RandomGuy.
That's my point, I doubt it will tarnish Ronaldos either. It will. Cruyff, Pele and Maradona are all fortunate the lived in a world without social media. Folk barely seen them play, Pele for instance, was never seen by Europeans outwith the World Cup, and even then half the folk probably couldnt watch many games, so their reputation is built entirely on word of mouth and the media. Ronaldo and Messi are seen by almost everyone, every single week, an are judged harsher when they have a poor game, while the older three could have a poor game and never see it mentioned. Mr Tourette
A lack of Davie Cooper in people's lists IMO.He was in Ruud Gullit's perfect XI in 442 back in 2007 (before Ronaldo and Messi were at their height) but still some achievement, especially when you look at the standard of the other players in his XI and those on the bench!http://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/ruud-gullit-perfect-xi
