10menwent2mow
Currently sitting 13th in the Country rankings for this season which will affect access to competitions for 2022/23. One of only 12 countries with all European representatives stiil in. Motherwell and Aberdeen, according to seeding have lived up to expectation, Rangers need to progress against Willem II to live up to seeding but aren't seeded to make groups and Celtic likewise need to progress against Riga or Tre Fiori, although their seeding is slightly more complicated having gone out of the CL earlier than they should have. Celtic will be unseeded for the playoff round but will likely take on a team with lower coefficient points than they have, thus effectively making them seeded.
d31
That was disappointing Motherwell let the side down last night. Hopefully Motherwell can recover the points by getting win or extra time next week

Here's hoping they can pull out another win.

RedLichtie86
More club points from a loss next week but they will need win or ET for more country pointsIs it not the case that of a team loses then they earn 1 point (0.5 points in qualifiers) for their country as UEFA are logging the 2nd leg as a draw.

Les Cabbage
Am I right in saying this season the following is correct: Winners of SPFL Premiership: UCL 3rd Qualifying Round Runners Up: 2nd Qualifying Round 3rd Place/Cup Winners: Europa League Play Off 4th Place/3rd: Europa Conference 2nd Qualifying Round 5th Place/4th: Europa Conference 2nd Qualifying Round

Only thing that might change, is if the runners-up lose their second qualifying round game and they drop into the Europa League third qualifying round - that might end up being the play-off round (if QR3 has an odd number and they get a bye, or if they don't run QR3 at all). In which case it's also a guaranteed Conference group stage place. Good thing for this season's coefficient is we've matched the 15/16 score of 3.000 that dropped off. Looking at which teams will be in the group stage: Celtic should make it through and Rangers have a decent chance. In which case, Turkey (11) would have one team in both the CL and EL group stage (both pot 4). Ukraine (13) will have either 1 CL + 2 EL or 2 CL + 1 EL. Austria (10) are probably too far ahead with either 1 CL + 2 EL or 3/4 EL teams. Cyprus (14) look likely to have two EL GS teams. Denmark (15) will probably have two GS teams, either 1+1 or both in the EL.

Seems to carry a pretty big importance.
charger29
How important is it for Rangers to win their playoff game against the Turkish side? Seems to carry a pretty big importance. If the aim is 12th and another year of guaranteed group spots for 2022-23 it's massive. If Rangers win it's (likely) 2 vs 2 against Turkish teams in the GS. Seems possible, if not likely, we would catch up due to Turkey having a divisor of 5 and fairly average teams too. If Galatasaray win it's likely 3 vs 1 in Turkey's favour and we get nowhere near 12th.We really have timed this move up the table perfectly for the next few seasons.

charger29
Monkey TennisGiven you're (Dons_1988) an Aberdeen fan wouldn't you be happy with the CW/3rd place regularly getting an automatic group stage place?12th place seems like the sweet spot for me if you want another Scottish team reaching the GS without the automatic CL spot which 11th place would likely give to the champions.

It’s big for Rangers/Celtic as it gives them a guaranteed Champs League group spot but as a Hibs fan as far as I’m concerned, the main thing is being 15th or below as that’s where we get an extra European Place for 3rd-5th (providing one for the Glasgow cheeks win the cup). Depends what your motives for caring is really. Edited September 25, 2020 by Les Cabbage

In terms of remaining in the top 15 we should be ok with only Celtic in the group stage, but then it becomes harder to gain points with five teams next season so points gained now are important.
