Kelty turned up expecting a victory and couldn't handle it when the Buffs got stuck into them. The Buffs goalie got injured after 5 minutes, played on and still didn't have a save to make. Casey Jones Posted February 18, 2017 Share Posted February 18, 2017 This morning I predicted that Bonnyrigg Kelty and Linlithgow would win East v West matches. Bonnyrigg won while Linlithgow still have to play after their match was postponed. I fancied Kelty as they are the top of the East Super League, and gave Musselburgh a doing up at Central Park earlier on in the season. However, hats off to Kilwinning. To go to Kelty and do enough to go through to the next round, without even having to go to a replay - well done, and result of the day in the Scottish! Missed out the midfield on a day when Kilwinning centre halfs were quite happy to deal with long balls. Paid the price because of it, an off day and the guys will bounce back, don't get off days in the Scottish, hence why it's the hardest trophy to win. Buffs stuck to a shape that suited them to play against it (including a keeper on one leg) and got the deserved result. Many positives, especially with players struggling with injury, hopefully take this to the league.
