Torpar
DAZN in Canada appear to have stopped showing Serie B games, bit shite as some of the games I've watched this year have been pretty entertaining, especially Benevento games
Andy_K_97
The Atalanta game last night was just scintillating viewing last night. I thought it would be a long night for them after Lazio went 2 up but the fightback was sensational, Gasperini has turned them into one of the best teams to watch in all of Europe in terms of entertainment. Equally pleasing to see them beat the fascists too.

Lazio went 2 up so early I remember thinking "that's dangerous for them, theyll think its done".was still a shock to look in on the game later on and see they were then behind

My folks have a slight liking for Fiorentina because they go to Tuscany a lot, so they'll watch them when they're on Premier Sports but I far prefer watching the Bergamasci.
Bully Wee Villa
Any teams likely to be banned from Europe next season? Was wondering if Bologna might have a chance of sneaking in.

Seen somewhere on Twitter that he hasn't played for 7 years or something and he's still managed to be red carded 3 times since then.

Begs the question would you rather have a career like that and be relatively well paid or earn less and maybe be a regular for a Serie B team

Herman Hessian
half an eye on proceedings in Genova this evening - Juve held 0-0 at half time after Lazio come from a goal down to win 1-2 at Torino - if Il Grifone can hang on for a draw, that'll be just two points separating the top two, with Lazio having the easier fixtures up to the point they go to the Allianz Stadium on 20/07....

Herman Hessian
it's that glorious time of year when the Serie C playoffs get under way - the most complicated season-ending fiasco anywhere first round results almost all in now: (w/o = walkover for the first-named team, as the other mob did not compete) just one game for each tie - and if it was a draw, the home team progress, as they finished higher in the league placings to earn the home advantage Novara 0-0 Albinoleffe Allessandria w/o Pro Patria Robur Siena w/o Arezzo Triestina w/o Piacenza Padova 0-0 Sambenettedese FeralpiSalo w/o Modena Catania 3-2 Virtus Francavilla Ternana v Avellino (playing 01.07) Catenzaro 0-0 Teramo second round (three x regional league fourth place teams get a bye to this stage) 1) Novara w/o Pontedera 2) Alessandria v Robur Siena 3) Sudtirol v Triestina 4) Padova v FeralpiSalo 5) Potenza v Catania 6) Ternana/Avellino v Catenzaro third round in addition to Novara, who get a by to this stage because Pontedera have pulled out, inspite of getting a free pass to round two, four other teams have already qualified - due to their league position (Renate, Carpi and Monopoli) plus Juve U23, having won the Coppa Serie C; other than the fact that these five sides are 'seeded' and therefore at home, I've no idea how it is decided who they might actually play from the five second round winners; but if Potenza beat Catania, then they would be seeded instead of Novara and the whole thing degenerates in to a complete head f**k - unadulterated Italian footballing administrative genius at its very best fourth round (easy from here on in) the five winners of the third round ties will join the three regional league winners (Carrarese, Reggio Audace and Bari) to make up the eight quarter finalists jesus....

Herman Hessian
so - is this how FFP should work or is a transfer involving two players valued at €150m in total with both sides involved able to show a profit of €60m each on completion just making an absolute mockery of things and an example of nothing more than 'creative accounting' ? I absolutely get that - as below - Barca have made a €60m profit on buying and selling Arthur over the term of his contract, but having done that they are then paying €70m for Pjanic so surely they are €10m down on the deal, no ? what the f**k does it matter to their financial standing what Juve have/have not made on Pjanic, and vice-versa - why is Juve's profit on the Bosnian used to mitigate Barca's profit/loss ???? ETA - have been drinking rough cider most of the evening and cannot currently undertake basic mental arithmetic - go easy on me.... Quote What also makes sense is the financials of the deal. On paper, Barcelona are said to be paying €70 million for Pjanic, while younger man Arthur is costing Juve €80 million, which looks to work out as a swap deal plus €10 million cash from the Bianconeri. However, FFP rules mean that both clubs will be able to report €60 million profit on their books, due to player amortisation. Barca paid €30 million for Arthur in 2018 on a six-year deal, meaning that his value decreases by €5 million per year in terms of FFP. Therefore, he is now worth €20m in terms of their accounting, meaning a sale for the equivalent of €80 million means the Catalan side can show a €60 million profit. Similarly, Pjanic arrived in Turin from Roma for €35 million in July 2016 on a five-year contract, meaning his FFP value reduces by €7m per year, leaving €21 million in value on the books after two years when he was handed a new five-year contract by the club. The remaining €21 million is then divided by five and therefore reduces by €4.2 million per year, and currently leaving €13 million in value on Juve’s accounts. A €70 million sale therefore leaves a tidy €57 million profit for the Old Lady.
Herman Hessian
anyway - all that counting stuff notwithstanding, Serie A has been blisteringly fierce entertainment since the restart - goals going in all over the place, something approaching a title race, sixteen goals (two wins, a draw and a defeat) in four Hellas games, and I Gialloblù in the thick of the race for the last EuropaLeague place - could be looking at an autumnal trip to Kazakhstan, or Barry Town if everything goes to plan...
