EK are there on ‘merit’, don’t make me laugh. I suppose if your definition of ‘merit’ consists of throwing money at players that SPFL1 clubs won’t pay, then there is some logic in that. There are teams punching well above their weight in the LL just now (we are not one of them) and I have full admiration for them, EK are not one of them. That being said, I don’t hate EK at all, said it a while back, just want you boys out of this league, the business model is doing the LL no good at all, though I suppose there is the likelihood that another team will try similar once you have gone. We will have to agree to disagree on the fact ek are where they are on merit. The level of spending makes no difference to it. East kilbride have always spent big, but have never reached there goal of being promoted. Spending big comes with no guarantees of success. As i’ve watched at close quarters over the last few years. plenty of teams punching above there weight with far smaller budgets. Thats what football is all about. And its great to see. And ive supported and backed this league and teams in it from the very start. Long may it continue. Yeah, the LL is going to get stronger, though very gradually I suppose. It’s got great potential. Strong chance that a former league club will eventually go down another level. I’d like to think Cowden are adapting now to life here and won’t find ourselves in that position for the foreseeable, but you only have to look at the league table to see that the teams bunched from East Stirling up that any could find themselves in trouble were it not for Gretna and Edinburgh Uni. 3 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
