La Liga / Copa Del Rey Ole

Real had two strong pen shouts waved away (the trip on Vinicius looked a stonewaller to me) and missed a couple of decent chances, but they were fairly dross overall. They weren't a particularly structured team under Zidane, but have regressed under Solari to just aimlessly firing crosses in. The title is Barcelona's to lose.

What a goal by Inaki Williams to break his 3 year Is Liga goal drought at San Mames!

Currently on Facebook if you've not got Eleven Sports.

Athletic 1 Sevilla 0 25 minutes gone.

At the Metropolitano again at lunchtime yesterday for another routine three points for Atletico. Early goal for Koke ruled out through VAR but penalty from Griezmann enough for a deserved win. Levante tidy, but created very little.

Five points behind Barcelona. It's a big ask and some silly points thrown away early in the season make the gap even more frustrating. Five points ahead of Real and Sevilla now though - great win for Bilbao against Sevilla, Inaki Williams on that form is near unplayable.

Good first half between Sociedad and Espanyol tonight as well. Breathtaking, only in la liga, best league in the world, etc.

Was at the game tonight, Dembele was excellent until his injury, but Messi is just another species altogether. That’s the fifth time I’ve seen him live and it’s just a different atmosphere when he has the ball to basically any other player on the planet, the excitement and electricity in the crowd is absolutely palpable. His assist and goal were fucking ridiculous.

The GOAT, and it’s not even close!

Prince has been playing well, he'll be happy to be a sub rather than demanding a starting slot, he already speaks Spanish and is by all accounts a popular lad in the dressing room. As mental as it sounds to folk who know him from Portsmouth and Spurs, for anyone with an interest in the other European Leagues it makes a decent amount of sense.

Plus it's only a 6-month loan, so not a huge amount of risk if he isn't up to scratch. Given the way Barca's results/performances have dropped off in matches when they've heavily rotated, I think he's a decent option to have.

Side note: his career path is mental
