Paco
The people that vote for him, don't vote for him because they think he's good. The vote for him, because anything that is anti-SNP is less worse, regardless of all reasoning and logic. In the case of Mundell, that is horseshit. He’s been the MP since 2005, predating the SNP government and referendum, and while the seat was created in 2005, Dumfriesshire has been a long-time Tory zone.

I could see them falling in line and getting the withdrawal bill through. I finally got a chance to watched recorded versions of this last night and can’t agree with your analysis. Things were more muted but there doesn’t seem to be a softening of positions even as May is trying to placate the likes of IDS. Very few Tories speaking in support of May. I think the anger and flowery rhetoric of her opponents has been replaced by a more steely determination.

Granny Danger
The Economists take on a No Deal Brexit. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.economist.com/leaders/2018/11/24/the-truth-about-a-no-deal-brexit#ampf=undefined May supporters are using the “people just want us to get on with it” line in trying to gain support for her plan. It is a total dereliction of duty and any member of the public who does utter those words hasn’t thought through the consequences and doesn’t deserve the right to vote.

ICTJohnboy
This link was posted earlier on the BBC bias thread. I'm surprised there hasn't been much comment on it, and wonder if few bother to read that thread. Re-posting the link here. The BBC Scotland's agenda is utterly scandalous and must fly in the face of all their codes of conduct. http://indyref2.scot/bbc-scotland-moves-to-protect-scottish-tories-as-mays-fishing-betrayal-is-revealed

Is the rural working class voting Tory a uniquely Scottish thing or does it happen elsewhere?I know from my own family's experience of growing up in rural Perthshire that there was a very much a forelock-tugging to the master mentality.

Detournement
A 2 and half minute video discussing the possibility of Lexit on the BBC last night has the Meltdom in uproar. The only Marxists allowed on TV seem to be young women in their 20s but Grace is doing a good job.

Can't watch the clip so don't know if that's her whole appearance but she was awful last night, peak entitled Oxbridge/private school arrogance. Did the Milo trick of talking rapidfire nonsense so it was impossible to argue with. Edited November 23, 2018 by welshbairn

Did the Milo trick of talking rapidfire nonsense so it was impossible to argue with. She is nothing like Milo. She is extremely knowledgeable about economics and is very clear and concise in making her points. I don't think her attitude is anything to with her background. She simply isn't willing to humour to the economic falsehoods that are promoted/accepted on these programs so she comes across as being combative. The fact that Neil the host cites Germany and Sweden* - where inequality is growing rapidly - as examples of the EU's compatibility with democratic socialism shows how off kilter they are. *Sweden is unbelievably now more unequal than the UK in terms of wealth.
