Must be a coincidence that so many wealthy people are buying Maltese and Cypriot passports then. Maybe they share an interest in the Templar Knights.

But still, nice to see you natters in a froth about it. Edited December 22, 2019 by The_Kincardine

Inanimate Carbon Rod
Im pretty gutted at losing my european citizenship, something I value higher than british subjecture. Its hopefully not going to be something thats removed from Scottish people for long. I dont qualify for irish or other citizenship so can’t keep it. Anyway, blue passports and being poorer, brexit’s great.
Guest Jedi
Meanwhile, opinion polling across the other 27 countries about the nasty EU...The EU is a 'good thing' say 62%. The country has benefited from EU membership (68%) (highest since 1983). 66% of respondents would vote for their country to remain part of the EU if any referendum on membership was held.17% would contemplate leaving and 17% are undecided. Must be an awful lot of 'economically illiterate' folk in all those countries of course.
welshbairn
It'll be worth all the wait to cruise through the fast lane with our spanking new Scottish passports with "European Union" on top, waving bye to Kinky as he reaches the back of the slow lane.

You misrepresent me. I have always been a strong proponent of the EU and its 'freedoms' on here. That I take issue with the imbecilic notion of an EU passport or a common format for EU passports is entirely right. So, eg, having a Finnish (EU country ) passport gives you visa-free access to more countries than having a Hungarian (EU country) passport. But still, you Natters can suck the life out of us about which colour batters your passport has. It makes not one fucking jot of difference. git-intae-thum
Obviously though the way the Irish border situation turns out will be very interesting from a Scottish perspective.

Absolutely. How often have we heard that the 'European project is going to fall apart in the next few years anyway'. It really is incredible that out of 28 countries only one has any appetite to leave the EU, and also the fact that 'its immigration in' it', despite the fact that every one of the 28 has freedom of movement, yet no agitation elsewhere to actually end such movement. I’m beginning to think that Parliamentary democracy in the UK is an illusion, within a Scottish context the next few months will tell. Of course if it is an illusion then armed insurrection is not only justified it may be inevitable.

These are all extremist movements with minimal support. There is no EU country where a majority of the electorate wish to leave the EU. No matter what the Express or Telegraph tell you.
