It’s amazing the amount of people on here who have misrepresented the DUP position on a VoC. They have been pretty clear about it. Corbyn knows his VoC motion will fail; he also knows that once it does he is going to make hard choices, that is why he is delaying it. One unpalatable suggestion is that May might reach out to Corbyn for support for a watered down version of Brexit. She might be desperate enough to do it; will he see it as a better option than supporting a second referendum?

I think he'll try to block everything and stall until there's a hard brexit, and then try to blame it on the Tories. Don't think he'll succeed, rebels in both parties will get together to stop it. Detournement
It's too late for May to switch positions now. Corporate MPs from both sides of the house will pass an improved deal before 29/03/19 imo Edited January 15, 2019 by Detournement

Latest odds are May's deal being, Accepted 25/1 Rejected 1/33
Granny Danger
When May brings Plan B I am assuming it will be amendable like Plan A was. If so I wonder if Bercow will accept the LibDem amendment that he didn’t this time around.

Plan B is dissolving parliament so Britain leaves on the 29th with no deal and May giving it a girfuy.

DeeTillEhDeh
Independence under a meaningfully socialist government first and foremost. Independence first. Socialist government after independence. But that would require the establishment of a mainstream socialist party in an Independent Scotland . . .

DeeTillEhDeh
If you dug a little deeper I suspect that many of those who say immigration is a problem don't mean white East Europeans - they mean Asian or Afro-Caribbean. And dig even deeper you'll find that the "immigrants" they are talking about aren't even immigrants but second and third generation Asians and Afro-Caribbeans.
John Lambies Doos
If the government loses their majority there would need to be an election. Not sure you know how it works tbh. Turkey's don't vote for Christmas. Fixed term parliament requires two thirds to vote for new election. It just won't happen

May has also said she won't stand in another election. If the DUP vote against the Government in a VOC (they won't), the Government would keep ticking over as a minority Government until after March 29th. Guest Jedi
Reckon she will lose by 150 votes tonight, and then agree that her Plan B will be to ask the EU for an extension of Article 50 until July, by which time she will come back with an ammended agreement probably another two times, until a softer version is voted through. Think the EU will agree to a legal limit on the Irish backstop, and that the UK will be inside some ongoing form of customs union arrangement. Corbyn will try a VONC in the next few days, possibly even tomorrow, and the Tories will vote it down as a block. There won't be enough Tories (or Lab) onside for a 2nd Ref, so it will all drag on for another 3 or 4 months until her 'new' deal is accepted, with the UK leaving the EU some time in July.

Londonwell
If there's not a VONC tomorrow i'd be extremely surprised. I would be even more surprised if it was successful. Extending Article 50 the most likely scenario in a time of unlikely scenarios . Edited January 15, 2019 by Londonwell
