Oh Kez!!!

I see your man Wings is now choosing the ‘Liverpool fans murdered 96 people at Hillsborough’ hill to die on.

Strange man. Can we look forward to his followers regurgitating this like they do everything else?
Ah but some things he says are factually correct occasionally so he gets a free pass.

Wings's thoughts on Hillsborough were fairly uncontroversial for quite a long time on here. It's less of an outlier than Jimmy85's at least.

I think it's the deliberately antagonistic passive/aggressive way he expresses absolutely everything that means when he says things like this, people are likely to react negatively.

In this case, he's not saying very much others haven't said elsewhere, only in less shouty, less publicised chambers.

Seems fairly reasonable to me.  But I do have an issue with the journalist and sub editor who allowed this to pass:

Dugdale, a member of Labour’s centrist wing

Someone pointed out that if she does leave then the possible replacements on the list will be interesting. Sarah Boyack has a senior public affairs job, former Edinburgh Lord Provost Lesley Hinds didn't stand in 2017 which leaves Jalal Choudry but if he doesn't want it then it falls to Cat Headley who's left the party.

Kez quitting - she'd not have been on the Labour List at the next Holyrood elections so it's more a matter of  getting off a stop early.

She has toyed with defecting from Labour to join the Independent Group, now known as Change UK, and is thought privately to be less hostile to Scottish independence than she was as Scottish leader.

Real chance for Kez to slip the knife into ScotLab which would go down well domestically! :P

On a more serious note I've always felt that Labour voters of Kez's generation & younger are softer in their opposition to Independence than Tories and older Labour voters.

Labour and the Tories do seem to have a cult-like obsession with UK nationalism. Both parties happily tolerate differing views on EU membership, but they cannot allow their members to even voice any opposition to Scotland’s incorporation within the UK. Questioning London rule is just sacrilege and not to be tolerated.

Kez to come out in support of independence, NAP of the day.

She could have, and should have, joined the SNP after the brexit refendum.

Unfortunately Nicola completely messed up any possibility of that happening.

According to the Beeb:

She would be automatically replaced as an MSP by the the next person on Labour's regional list for the Lothians - which is former MSP Sarah Boyack, a former contender for the Scottish Labour leadership.

That's not even slightly interesting.

Nothing unfortunate about it she's a vacuous airhead.

That said Stuart Campbell is a fucking fanny of the highest order. His comments re Hillsbourgh and trans folks are disgraceful, he is the online version of Clerkin. Aye he wrote a wee pamphlet but he can f**k off if he thinks insulting every opponent is the best way to win a political argument.

What were his comments about trans people?   Can you give us some quotes?
