welshbairn
Quote We American Christians Welcome Trump's Obedience to God's Word on Jerusalem Donald Trump is advancing the most biblically historic initiative of his presidency. It means Judeo-Christian America can say again: 'Israel – We’ve got your back' In 1995, the 104th U.S. Congress overwhelmingly passed the Jerusalem Embassy Act, in recognition of the three thousandth anniversary of the spiritual and eternal Capitol of the State of Israel. Now, we may finally witness one of the most spiritually and politically significant events in modern history. President Donald Trump may implement one of the most biblically historic initiatives of his presidency by allowing the first step of the Jerusalem Embassy Act to go into effect this week. Like many Jews in Israel and around the world, Christians recognize Jews' biblical connection through King David’s establishment of Jerusalem as the capitol of ancient Israel and the location for both the first and second Temples. According to the prophets, Ezekiel, Isaiah and the Apostle John in the New Testament, all Israel awaits the rebuilding of the Third Temple. Like Judaism, Christianity believes that the Messiah will one day sit on the throne of David in Jerusalem. Even Islam has recognized the spiritual significance of Jerusalem to the Jewish people. In the Muslim Supreme Council’s publication, A Brief Guide to the Haram Al-Sharif (1925 edition, page 4), it speaks about Jerusalem’s Temple Mount stating that "its identity with the site of Solomon’s Temple is beyond dispute. This, too, is the spot, according to universal belief, on which 'David built there an altar unto the Lord, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings.'" This quote can also be found in 2 Samuel 24:25. But the world has changed over the last 3000 years – or has it? As we see daily in our news, the battle over Jerusalem still rages. Biblically, as Christians, we will stand before the Almighty and be held accountable for what we do, or don’t do for Israel and our Jewish brethren. As God told the Prophet Obadiah, in the last days, "He would wipe out the descendants of Edom because they stood by while their brother Jacob (Israel) was held in captivity and did nothing." I remind Christians through the global ministry of Proclaiming Justice to The Nations, that we too shall be judged if we stand aside in the hour of our Jewish brethren’s greatest need. Over the last twelve years, many Christians have been actively engaged in urging President Trump, previous administrations and Congress to allow the Jerusalem Embassy Act to go into effect. We have seen a recent shift by the Saudi and Egyptian governments in support of Israel as many Arab nations are re-thinking their relationship with Israel. This shift is significant and illustrates that the new relations being formed in the Middle East with Israel are helping to change the views of many Arabs in Israel. During the last year of filming our recent documentary, Boycott THIS!, we interviewed many Christian and Muslim Arabs who want to live in peace with their Jewish Israeli neighbors. Some of the Arabs admitted on camera that they would rather live under an Israeli government than a Muslim government because they realize their freedoms would be secured. This is the story that many Christians, Jews and Muslims never hear through the mainstream media. While I recognize that there are many American Jews who may disagree with my analysis, I would encourage them to travel to Israel and meet with the Muslim and Christian Arabs we met to hear their perspective. There is a whole different narrative being communicated in Israel today. Should President Trump prove to be a man of his word, it is one more step in reversing the policies of the four previous administrations before him. The Judeo-Christian United States of America can once again say, “Israel – We’ve got your back”! As evangelicals, we believe that God’s Covenant with Israel still stands. The Covenant states that Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and their descendants will become as numerous as the stars in the heavens and sand on the seashore, and all the land He showed Abraham, He gave to him and his descendants forever. That land includes Jerusalem. We, as a community of faith, believe that if we are obedient to obey God’s Commandments and keep His decrees, then He will deal with our enemies. We will not be intimidated by threats. Many Christians ask me why we should be involved in ensuring that the U.S. Embassy be moved to Jerusalem, and I remind them that 'USA' is in the heart of 'JerUSAlem' – where else should our embassy be? banana
Piers Morgan saying this perfectly normal administrative move has enraged a billion Muslims. Yet more proof that this doctrine is as infantile and dangerous as Christianity has been. Time for all rational people to call it out as we have done/do openly with Christian religions Unless of course you're afraid of enraging Muslims, being called an 'Islamophobe', and will continue to kowtow. In what way is it remotely logical. Tel Aviv is the capital of Israel and there is no need to change it. Trump sets out to antagonise and destroy relations built up over many years. A well placed bullet in his head would be the best thing for world peace.
NotThePars
Worth remembering that almost every Republican candidate in 2016 supported a united Jerusalem recognised as Israel's capital. Furthermore Obama said words to the same effect in 2008 and Hillary Clinton said the same in 1999.

Even Trump didn't go that far. This article explains some of the context. I doubt Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's position of power will be lengthy, or his time on Earth possibly. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/03/world/middleeast/palestinian-saudi-peace-plan.html?ref=todayspaper&_r=1
