How exactly? Being relegated from the bottom tier would surely completely kill his career

We have 0 points this year.

we have lost 10 out of last 11.

we are adrift at the bottom.

he can't sign players or punt players, just make do with what he has.

We are at absolute rock bottom.

if it doesn't work it isn't his fault really so he has nothing to lose.

How do you work that one out?

Bosman

champions league

tv money

everything is geared for the big clubs to get bigger and have a monopoly so they stay there, and the rest are further and further behind.

a problem not exclusive to football.

Think it's totally different to be honest.

You shouldn't be so cocky. Dick has done well at Arbroath, but not so well elsewhere Have you forgotten all the comments from other "experts" when he got the job? Where are they now?

And you guys have had your share of duds too.

if it goes pear shaped for Cowden get stuck in but we haven't even played a game yet.

He's done very well elsewhere. I'm not being cocky either, just think the comparison between a manager and player is totally off.

As a manager you're standing on the side reading a game, anyone can do that, essentially just watching better or worse players depending on the level, as a player you're on the park having to actually play the game, you need to be up to the level required.

In terms of TV money and champions league Dundee are diddys like the rest of us.

Bosman(who was an absolute nobody) is an entirely sensible ruling that gives players freedom to change employers after completing an agreed contract.

Hasn't Dick been sacked everywhere he has been? Have you ever heard the way he communicates with players?

Having said that, he'd probably get us out of the mess we are in now. Still don't like him though.

Yes, Al.
Fact: we are a small club with a small fan base. We don't own our own ground, which is a tip.
In the last few years, we have had some amazing success. It's been a good time to be a Cowden supporter. The great Mixu helped us win our first title in 67 years. We've been in the Championship, punching well above our weight.
We picked up Greg Stewart from the amateur leagues and turned him into a top class player. Dundee got him for £0.0 pence.
We got Kane Hemmings on a free from Rangers and turned him into a top player . Dundee got him for £0.0 pence, because the system is rigged in favour of the wealthy clubs, of course.
Dundee got a substantial fee for both players.

Fucking diddums. I have been feeling a degree of sympathy for Cowden lately, but this is utter bollocks. You had sustained period of time in a league with large travelling supports and higher gates. Your financial issue is that your board clearly didn't even consider the slide and planned horrifically badly. No one is going to be in uproar listening to your conspiracy based shite.

That's what happens when most managers leave clubs...

And yes, I have first hand knowledge that players love the guy. Knew this long before he was ever Arbroath manager.

He's won titles and he done extremely well with Forfar nearly getting them to the Championship on a few occasions. He got Brechin to the Championship.

Having met him on many occasion he's a great guy, a #tapboi.

This thread also has absolutely nothing to do with DC, why you're bringing him up I've no idea.

Just stick to discussing this guy please, thank you.

Appointed wrong man to begin with, let him go on far to long, should have been sacked at Christmas,Locke not the right man, am no fan of Allan Moore, but that squad needs someone who is going to kick backsides, sorry you guys are gone

In Gary we trust who I believe will be fighting tooth and nail to regain his football management credibility.

You can't regain something if you never had it in the first place.

As for the suggestion that Raith panicked and sacked him too quickly  He was sacked after a run of 14 games without a win. There isn't a manager in the world who wouldn't be under pressure after that kind of run and most would be sacked long before a winless run reached that many games. Raith showed a massive amount of patience and gave him every chance to turn it round, far too much patience in fact. A sensible well-run club would have sacked him sooner, before they were in touching distance of relegation.

Locke's record in those last 14 games at Raith was actually worse than Fox's last 14 games at Cowdenbeath: Locke took 5 points from 14 games, Fox took 10. He was literally twice as bad as Fox. I don't suppose you're going to accuse the Cowdenbeath board of panicking and sacking Fox too quickly?

Great result now let's get into winning ways

Dissapointed Forfar chucked it but we just have to ensure we are focusing on winning ourselves

Today's result shows Fox should have packed his bags ages ago. Well done Burton and Neil in the dugout but more importantly the players putting in the performance they are capable of

Yellow Feet by the end of Tuesday we could be 6 points behind you as our club may have just knocked your club of there stride

Fingers crossed we can keep this up
