Challenge Cup 2017-18

Another added away tie to Morton which we don't need in the season. Plus we will probably get beat not too exciting was really hoping for anything other than another team in our league.

People seem to be under the misapprehension that Doncaster and his fellow Hampden clowns care about what the fans of 40 clubs think. A boycott would undoubtedly meet with the same reaction from the suits that the Checkatrade Trophy did in England ie boycott and numerous record low crowds ignored and the competition continues as the authorities want.

The point is to give the young players at Premier league teams the chance to play serious football against grown-ups, to help them develop and progress to their first teams - and maybe into the national team

They already have that chance either playing for their club in the Premiership or in the Development League. Why should smaller clubs see their cup and league competitions diluted so "A Teams" U21s can play a game against a bunch of teachers and joiners from Stirling? What good will that actually do them?

Our record in this cup recently is... not good. Don't be so sure of defeat here.

really?  Away to Ross County Colts midweek...don't think they'll need to worry about arranging a boycott for that one.  A few of the players may even cite "work commitments" for that one!

Well, not quite ignored - there was much hilarity and terrible publicity all round last year. I think they're giving it one last go.

We need, as has been said multiple times, to see the colts absolutely fucking smashed in front of precisely no fans. The best way to do that is for lower league teams to put out full strength sides, although that will not happen.

Although knowing Cockwomble and Co., they'd probably just say the drubbings were evidence that young players need more experience playing against experienced pros, and hence they need to be in the league system. You just get the feeling it's pretty much a fait accompli and they'll be in there somewhere in the next 5 years.

be a great laugh if our u20's win this after us failing to win it in the last 3 years

They won't btw, I don't think you realise how bad these colts teams actually are.

they aren't bad at all. they're playing at a level that they shouldn't be playing at.

They are clearly not good enough to get anywhere near winning this competition.

I'd rather have played a Colts team but it'll do. Home against division below. Airdrie could be dangerous obviously but they are in a bit of turmoil at the moment so who knows how they will be by the time they line up.

Sevco colts maybe just cos they be on premier sports or something similar otherwise no thanks senior teams or other association teams suit me fine
