Big change in betting odds overnight with Bet365.

Yesterday both teams were similar odds to win, now Valur are clear favourites.

Valur 5/4

Draw 13/5

St Mirren 8/5

Maybe be a lot of punters lumping money on Valur or the past history of Scottish teams at this stage have been taken into account.

No surprise really.

Rightly or wrongly, most people perceive Scottish football as being shite and with Valur coming off a 4 zip away victory, to many they look worth a punt.

Our best signing in years.

Crazy to think how gutted I was when it became clear Jim Goodwin was leaving.

Tony F started our last away European tie (Mechelen, October '87).

I wonder how many other people on the Iceland trip were also there 37 years ago. Less than 20?

Me for 1, I flew to Belgium on the official club charter back then.

ETA I don't remember my head throbbing quite as much as it is this morning back in my prime. Too much Gull last night. Two paracetamol and we go again in true football parlance.

Valur were tipped up as one of the 3 best bets of the week by the European football column in the racing post. That might well have influenced it. When you read his reasoning it was hard to disagree with it from a purely neutral point of view.

I looked at the odds yesterday and the app had a line saying Valur are unbeaten in their last 9 home games, I know the opposition they came up against might be lower league standard but momentum can be huge. I’d be happy with a draw.

I don't want to get ahead of myself here, though I did watch the first leg vs Vllaznia and they did not look anything special at all on home soil. Competitive game time and home tie gives them advantage on paper, though I'd back our players to be ready for the challenge.

Assuming we're in our home kit tonight as Valur are in red - just so I know whether to put on the stripes or an away kit from 1998 or 2003 😎

Yes. As are the away kits from the years I mentioned.

The picture on the official match day X/Twitter post has Mark O'Hara wearing the blue strip.

So who knows?

I don't follow: why would your assumption be that we'll be in our home strip if they are in red? Surely we'll just play in the away?

I wonder if there will be a Match Programme for the tie tonight, e-mailed SLO the other day but nothing back yet.....

Apparently Valur do not produce match programs.
