Another pleasant surprise for me has been Jayden Brown. Never really took to him last season but think he’s looked really sharp in these two games.

Did he nearly score the goal of the pre-season there from that shot outside the box? haha!

A decent run out.

In the first half the midfield was far too easily breached. that in combination with some poor defending led to Balcombe having to make three very good saves.

Idowu took his goals really well. Maybe the rest of the forwards can learn from him.

Second half we were much more comfortable and should have had at least another couple.

Apart from a stramash near the end where Kenny cleared one off the line, Urminsky was rarely troubled.

I thought the trialist looked solid and used the ball well.

It was a friendly, so I won't comment on the negatives.

How did the trialist look?

As I mentioned, he looked a bit of a unit.

He looked for the ball and generally used it well.

Difficult to tell how good he was, but he was more of a presence than CBM.

Agreed. I thought he did his chances no harm at all. Really confident looking player. Wonder who he is.

Meanwhile, a full time score in the Champions League:

Vikingur Reykjavik 0-0 Shamrock Rovers (Attendance 810)

Vikingur currently 5 points ahead of Valur in the Icelandic league. Drew 2-2 with each other last month.

We'll find out when we make a double signing tomorrow along with Bolton's replacement.

Also, I take my hat off to the Saints fans who stood in that pissing rain tonight.

Lovin the look of Idowu. Really looks the part.

Sadly big Jonah on the other hand looks slow as a week in the jail.

It's about getting fit minutes in the legs. Our second warm up game not half way through the season being a January Scottish Cup tie in Greenock.
