iateallthepies
Really needed three points yesterday but will have to take one. After a shaky opening ten minutes we were the better side and deservedly led with a well worked and well taken goal. Annan manager must have delivered a rocket at half-time. They came charging forward from the 're-start, took the initiative and we could never get it back.We had one or two decent moves usually involving our full backs but for the most part it was boot the ball in the general direction of Cox who was marked by two big centre backs who apparently learned their trade under the direction of the Kray twins. I think Wednesday's game may have taken its toll.Mullen for one looked knackered and for my money should have been subbed early in the second half. Trialist was thrown in at the deep end as an emergency centre back and did pretty well. Pyper misses next two and I think Mullen is out for next one so it will be interesting to see what team will be. I agree with previous posts about Syme,Connelly and Muirhead, and the new signings. But I do feel they will have a say in what happens above them as it’s getting into the business end and not much separating the group above. Shame to say Cowden have left it too late.Edinburgh City are improving ,even Clyde so nothing left but playoffs. Quite like a wee trip to the Beath too,Wee Jimmy's bar and social club. We failed to replace Kris Renton and Dale Carrick who left at the end of the season. This left us with just a youth striker (albeit a talented one) up front and a young team and after a bright start (4 points out of 6) confidence has just drained out the team. Words can't describe how much of a relief it would be to finally win a bloody match!

NELLY
Surprised to see Bryan had made an appearance at weekend with pyper suspended and syme out of the picture would be a good signing. Talked a bit to him when he kindly travelled up from Annan or wherever down there he stays to come play in the benefit game I organised. He is a decent lad and was constantly asking about things at cowden. He is still in good fitness and is a leader so would do a turn for us im sure. I dont buy the whole thing syme thing. What I have seen of him is a player who is not giving 100%. He is unfit and I said that at start of season looked overweight to me and slow. His injury and suspensions hasnt helped recently but against Edinburgh city he looked well off the pace and didnt put in required effort if you ask me. He is one of the lads who SHOULD be our stand out player and he hasnt come remotely close. a fit and motivated david syme is an asset though. Bollans signings thus far appear to me to be what he can muster up as he must be fighting a losing battle to get people to sign for us. Which is why cox is a good signing. Malone looks poor. Boy reilly shows promise and maybe needs a run of games. We have signed some awful awful players this last 24 months. Morris and Garden being 2 of the worst. I would get cammy muirhead (if fit) playing along with cox. When going a goal up we badly need to get a 2nd goal as I dont believe our team would then buckle but when going on such a terrible run 1 goal is never enough to see us through games I wouldnt think. onto Saturday which will be a tough game as usual but winnable. Cowden316
Talking of Saturdays game I see the weather forecast is extremely frosty minus 4 overnight on Tuesday. I have will imagine the club will look for volunteers again to help protect the pitch to ensure Saturdays game can go ahead

CowdenLoyal
Jordan Garden has left Cowdenbeath. He'll be forever remembered for that bloody penalty! Unfortunately he's one of many players that are instantly forgettable that we've had over the last three seasons. Offered absolutely nothing other than embarrassing publicity for that stunt (still not a penalty mind you).

As previously mentioned, he has brought in players who can' t get get into a poor starting eleven. Other teams have strengthened with their loan signings and we have just filled our bench.
