"The ICT Thread - The Championship Years"

He’s maybe the nicest footballer in the world.  Just a terrific bloke.  He is also a striker who has scored one goal in two seasons and had plenty of chances (along with a bad injury, to be fair).

A red card or a goal on his debut seems inevitable really.

Decent bait; hoping nobody is stupid enough to fall for it.

Whether you think it's bait or not, you surely can't deny that it's evident of a struggle to maintain a big enough playing pool of players willing to relocate locally to sustain two full-time Highland football clubs? It also dilutes the notion of a "Highland derby" given how readily it happens.

What on earth are you talking about? Both clubs have managed to convince numerous quality players to move North since turning full time, achieving far more than the vast majority of “historical” clubs within the pyramid in the mean time.

As for the Highland Derby, there is obviously a local hatred between the two but it’s hardly ever been known for its ferocity; players swapping sides or not.

Don’t bite.

How's this going to pan out, definitely not in the Wotherspoon mould, down as a centre fwd but there are goalkeepers😋 with better scoring records.

Is this just an offload by RC with the Caley board trying to show they are trying to bring players in

Hopefully Duncan can make something of him and maybe the lad will surprise us all.

Interested to see how Samuel gets on. There definitely looked to be a decent Championship player in there in his loan spell with us as a 20 year old. Only scored four goals (which included a double v Motherwell in the League Cup) but the vast majority of his appearances were from the bench while Stefan McCluskey was starting every week, because Jim Duffy. Injuries were quite frequent, in a familiar theme for Inverness this season.

Definately a player there IMO. I hope he does really well for ICT. He was good towards the end of last season I thought. Definately a real grafter as others have said, similar to Murray in that way. Didn't score many for County, but apart from Murray not many of our players do!!! It will be interesting to see if he goes on a scoring run at ICT. Hope so.

Also, a genuinely nice person as well who takes time to speak to anyone. Good luck to him!

RC fans focused on Samuel being a nice lad who works hard and hoping he does well yet not one mention of him being a loss for County.

He wouldn’t be dropping down to the Championship to play football if he was going to be a loss for a team playing in the top division.

Regardless of where he was loaned out to I took it was clear, apart from the sugar coating, he would not be missed from their squad.

Bear in mind he's also still an RC player so RC fans may not be giving a clear assessment.

However we have seen players come to us who have turned their careers positively.

Considering they have loaned him to a rival you’d imagine the County fans would be all over this thread telling us how shite he was if that was true. However they seem to think he is decent enough, just not a goalscorer, and Adams is seemingly desperate to get as many folk out the door, no matter how good they are, to bring in his own players in.

He could end up being shite for us but in terms of where we are I don’t think there are many better options out there.

I rate Samuel and think he’s a clever signing for ICT. He’ll do all the donkey work, allowing Mackay to concentrate on what he does best. Small in height but great at holding the play up, quick and an arse bigger than John McGinn’s.

id have kept him FWIW.

I am also sad to see him loaned out. Would have been a useful player for County in our inevitable relegation battle. Why is he loaned out, Derek Adams is your answer! Wants his own players. I'm already disillusioned with Adams tbh. Would have preferred if it had been White loaned out.

You're making out we're exchanging players all the time🤣🤣 the odd player goes over the bridge.  It's either go to County or Inverness, go part time at Elgin or relocate down in the central belt. Where was this crap when Simon Murray played for both Dundee teams?
