What is the story with Newburgh and Lochore? Surely to follow now? It's funny to see a few statements refer to the ERSJFA meeting. The Fife clubs all take it as a hint to leave, the Lothians to stay...? Are they glad to be getting a wee local league all to themselves with no travel over the devilish Queensferry Crossing? Somebody mentioned Lochore having a meeting due soon to discuss. Seems obvious now they will go EoS too.

They had no choice in the East ,because it was two completely separate systems, so it was the right thing to do. The new WoS League looks it will have the vast majority of its teams switching over from an existing hierarchical structure, so leave those at the top at the top, middle at the middle, bottom at the bottom. Auchinleck v Girvan....double figures ? I don't know if you've looked the table recently but you've got the likes of Clydebank sitting in 5th having played TEN games more than Talbot and Talbot are 4 points ahead in 3rd place. 1 point behind Pollok that have played SIX games more than Talbot. While Kilwinning sit top a good 13 points ahead of Talbot, Talbot do have EIGHT games to catch them up and have already beaten Kilwinning 6-1 this year in the league. Admittedly Talbot have dropped as many points so far as they did in the whole of last season. So maybe they'll drop some more and only stumble to a title win instead of run away with it. This Talbot team have proven themselves to be too good for the level they're playing at. Using them as the yard stick to how others would fare is unfair. No different to how Kelty and Bonnyrigg were compared in the EoSFL having won 2 of the last 3 East Superleague titles upon entering the pyramid. All three clubs should be playing at a higher level.
cmontheloknow
The last Fife League in 2001-02. Amazing to think that within 20 years they'd all (?) be gone.

Lochore getting "relegated" from the South Super anyway and without any neighbours, no way will they stay. Newburgh either have to go north or join the EOS, otherwise they are playing in a West Lothian league. Fife has (basically) fallen. The Fife clubs have probably realised that none of the EOS clubs were returning - maybe that's what made some of them stay last season (along with the done deal at tier 6)? 21 minutes ago, Doonhamer1969 said: Auchinleck v Girvan....double figures ? Lochore and Newburgh have upcoming meetings. 28th and 4th March if I remember right, can't remember which date is for which club.

Each of these departures from the SJFA sends a clear message to those clubs currently in an uncomfortable position sitting on the fence in the West. The underlying position is that progress cannot be halted. There is no advantage in trying to ignore the “seas of change “. Even TJ - our very own “King Canute” - must see how quickly the tide is coming in!

Correction. Newburgh are having/had a meeting tonight from 7pm. Lochore are the ones having there's on the 4th March.
morley
The Fife Cup which is for senior teams only is fairly getting a new lease of life. Only 4 years ago it had only 5 clubs competing and struggled to see fixtures completed, now it looks like it could be what up to 15 or so teams and with a sponsor announced late last year. How times are changing. Edited February 25, 2020 by morley

As you say may be a few years away yet.

Only other season they finished lower was 1984/5 when they finished 11th/18, they did win three cups that season however. What about 2013/14?

Remains to be seen how keen they still are on staying once the penny drops that they have a season where the majority of their home games will be against the three tribute acts, possibly the now homeless Syngenta and all three of Harthill, Staneyburn and West Calder to look forward to.
