There can be a never ending argument re precedent but most people would accept that the dividing line passing through the centre of a town/village is a unique circumstance. No precedence is being set by accepting a team from that town/village no matter how much some may wish it to be otherwise. A Dundee team should try applying and see where it gets them. Purely theoretical question. Are there any Perth Amateurs from higher up the Tay valley possibly looking to move up into the pyramid in the foreseeable future? If there are any then they may now feel confident about applying to the EoS?

LongTimeLurker
For Dev's benefit, Breadalbane from Aberfeldy wanted into the east region juniors at one point (got knocked back over concerns about being too close to a golf course) and there have been posts about them wanting to pursue licensing and the pyramid. The guy who was posting about it on here preferred the EoS/LL over the HL. Edited May 3, 2020 by LongTimeLurker
cmontheloknow
I think Angus will eventually become a sort of buffer between LL and HL with no concrete boundary and clubs being able to opt into whatever setting they wish.
edinabear
With another 10 clubs joining the East of Scotland does anyone have a list of who is left in the Juniors? Assuming the North Juniors go in at Tier 6 under the Highland League will there only be the remaining east Juniors left? Surely that's not sustainable.

He gets the chance to explain his problem with the EoS setup, completely misses the target and puts it out for a throw in. Absolutely nothing meaningful said in that interview from him at all apart for the usual shout of “lies” which he doesn’t back up with ANY facts whatsoever

Blinkered. Embarrassing. He’s not the only one, Mr Parks get far too much airtime spreading unsubstantiated claims of what it means for clubs joining the pyramid. Yes, it’s not perfect... far from it at the moment. But with people still believing that floodlights are needed to join tier 6-8 and the SPFL being rotten to the core, there is a LOT of work to be done. Non-league, community (whatever you choose to call them) clubs fighting amongst themselves is not going to change things for the better though. patriot1
Exactly what I would have expected from the interview. There's no doubt that some of the WL clubs are extremely bitter about the events of two years ago and the comments about not being able to sit in the room with other clubs officials, while irrational explain perfectly why the likes of Armadale and Fauldhouse haven't made the move. I do share his concerns over the SPFL clubs trying to shaft the non leagues. It's now odds on that Kelty and Brora are going to be denied the chance of promotion. And until the SFA approve the licences to the Dunipace, Bo'ness etc I will still worry that they are going to change the goalposts again to try and restrict the amount of licensed clubs.

CURRENT PYRAMID STATUS Highland: Tier 5: 17 clubs Tier 6: Nothing in place Potential outside pyramid: 32 North Juniors 17 Tayside Juniors 10 North Caledonian League CURRENT CLUBS: 17 POTENTIAL CLUBS: 76 (possibly 59 without Tayside) Lowland: Tier 5: 16 clubs Tier 6: West: 20 clubs, East: 18 clubs, South 15 clubs Tier 7: West: 47 clubs, East: 32 clubs Potential outside pyramid: 13 Lothian Juniors 17 Tayside Juniors CURRENT CLUBS: 148 POTENTIAL CLUBS: 161 (possibly 178 with Tayside) So, whatever way you look at it, a very lopsided pyramid. 17-148 distribution of clubs at the moment, with a best case scenario of 76-161 if all 237 clubs down to junior level get on board. A North/West/East split would be 59-88-90 with Tayside clubs in the East, or 76-88-73 with Tayside clubs in the North.
