So it's just really an Milan. Council own the ground, so no worries there.

Remember the juniors are supposed to be negotiating to enter the pyramid the season after next anyway.

It is going to be very difficult to deliver that in the east.

Well by the looks of it, it wont be delivered at all.  TJ was told at the PWG that if clubs want to access the Pyramid in the East, they join the EoSFL, and to underline that point a new WoSFL is going to be formed to help the clubs in the West Region.  A big FU to the SJFA.

Kelty will no doubt cut their cloth. They have a smashin wee ground - have put themselves into the mix for a much higher revenue stream than in the Juniors and as a well run club they are picking up a lot of commercial activity. I don't know that much more about them as we only played them the once and I went out to see them with our manager ahead of that - but they seem to have covered a lot of bases. I think they are an example of how the Juniors can play a big role in revitalising the bottom end of the pyramid and wish them the very best.

Just an observation about your trolling of this thread.  You go over the same points and ask the same questions time and again.  Motherwell are in the Cup Final, yet you fret about Kelty.

What is St.Roch's view on the current situation? if a WoSFL is formed next seasons will the Candy be applying or will they stick with the Juniors? what fits best with the long termn outlook of the club?

It's common knowledge St Roch's position and every other Junior team's position regarding a pyramid.

£7.3 million of council funds could have been better used to tackle the austerity and associated problems in funding the health services etc etc in the region.

Coincidentally the fact that the leading politicians involved at the council at that time all had "Kelty connections" does not look good. Fact

Think the money you quoted was for the extension to the COMMUNITY centre.

Also, whats the problem with what Kelty are doing? They seem to be sticking the money mans cash into the ground instead of players pockets, seems sensible tae me.

Thought the cooncil owned the ground?

I've not seen anything from St.Rochs or their fans about their view of the Pyramid or the future "Every other Junior team" you mean the SJFA survey results?

What do you think it is?

I'd assume you'd be all for it, after all it may one day give 99.99% of the fans there the chance to see the Rochs play the team they really support :whistle

However distasteful it is to the Junior hardcore, it is the sensible approach to take - the SJFA cannot function in the pyramid at different levels, it would be a farce.

Totally agree, the SJFA should remain for those clubs who for whatever reason want to remain loyal to the grade.  They cannot exist within the Pyramid.

Or if they do, it is as they do in Ireland, beneath the rest. NI's Senior / Intermediate / Junior set-up seems pretty straight-forward. The ROI is a little more haphazard though to a casual observer with Senior and junior leagues co-existing beneath a certain level.

Just further on the NI / ROI systems:

As ever, Wiki-ware for accuracy.

Further digging shows that all the leagues shown in the Republic for Connaght below level 6 are Junior.

In Northern Ireland, I don't think the Junior leagues are shown, this link...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northern_Amateur_Football_League

suggests that the Juniors in NI begin below Division 1C with Division 2A then 2B and 2C.

In Mid Ulster...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mid-Ulster_Football_League

...there are Junior divisions 1-4 below Intermediate B.

The official website of the Mid Ulster league contains further info on the clubs at Junior level...

http://www.midulsterfootballleague.co.uk/Home.aspx

Click Leagues, choose any of Div 1-4 then click a team name. It gives ground details too, I'm wondering how close the facilities of these teams are to what the SAFA membership has.
