Spartans, Shire, Kelty, EK, Cumbernauld mebee, and that’s it. The rest of the LOL is mediocrity.

The LL was designed for the better EoS clubs. To suggest there was ever a chance of west juniors getting  involved in such a league at its outset shows a disconnect from reality.

You're keeping me on my toes here. Two former boys clubs, one of which even has COLTS in the name, can compete with the beasts from the west!

You've really not gotten this pro Junior trolling down have you? East Kilbride and Cumbernauld Colts are two of the clubs that should be banished from the pyramid as their lack of tradition makes it a mockery.

A big disconnect from reality from you khufu, what day is it?  what year is it?

Everybody was invited to join the LL south of the Tay,you guys and so many others turned your noses up at it.

Now its its coming back to bite you in the ass and we're still getting snidey remarks towards the LL and EOS.

It could hav been tier 5 for you guys 5yrs ago but it could still be tier 6 next season in a new WOS league.

So the offer when it was set up to include the Juniors, what, never happened? Or happened but was never meant to be implemented? What about the offer to set up a West of Scotland League at Tier 6, did that happen? East clubs have shown a willingness to travel but the West clubs essentially blocked a Nationwide Junior Super League - which group do you think is most likely to be welcoming to new clubs and new ideas?

Not if the EoSL decides it can handle up to  2 x 18 = 36 clubs, by reducing the number of cup games - for one season only I guess. Looks like 34 clubs so far including Broxburn if they apply.

Unlikely to handle more than 36 clubs, so very late applications are probably unwise. If in doubt, they should ask the Secretary.

Serve certain clubs right if they don’t. Am sure the 150k toilets will flush well though

Could easily end up with 3 leagues of 12-14 as the stragglers follow.

They can always go to three sections. It isn't an insurmountable problem in logistical terms, if their top priority is delivering the coup de grace to the east region south of the Tay and it almost certainly is or they wouldn't still have a link to the application form featuring prominently on the homepage of their website again almost two months after what was alleged to be the deadline. A sign of the impending apocalypse will be EoS related tweets emerging from the Whitburn, Armadale, Fauldhouse and Harthill portion of West Lothian at this point.

Still think they might ask Stirling Uni reserves if they would be willing to step down for a year. If they don't I still think the EoS would take in clubs past the 36 milestone. Especially if its a Superleague club.

The lack of talk over South Division clubs means they'll likely be happy to ride out 2018-19 and join at the bottom of whatever's come to be.

Again from NLM:

Re: [fitbadaft] Bonnyrigg Rose next to go Senior ? [In reply to]

Looking back, the use of the word Domino was truly prophetic, and it may not be all over yet!

Newtongrange Star, today, confirmed that they are applying to the EoS. Followed by confirmation from leading fellow Super League club Penicuik Athletic that they have been accepted. That's now five Super League clubs going and rumours (no more than that) of another Super League outfit, Dundonald Bluebell, moving now rather than deferring for 12 months.

There is, now, the inevitable, unsubstantiated, speculation that the remaining "south of Tay" Super Leaguers will join in too. They would be Broxburn Athletic, Sauchie Juniors, Jeanfield Swifts and Kennoway Star Hearts. We'll see! Then there's Linlithgow Rose and Bo'ness United. Who knows what they'll end up doing but standing still seems less likely with every passing hour.

Meanwhile, in the Premier Division, there is strong speculation that St Andrews United may have decided to go too.

Overall the EoS ended the season with 13 clubs. Losing Kelty Hearts to the Lowland League in exchange for Hawick Royal Albert.

Gaining 17 clubs (subject to verification regarding Arniston Rangers) to give a current likely total of 30 clubs for next season (Not including Newtongrange Star or St Andrews United).

Quite a domino effect set in slow motion by Kelty Hearts a year ago but gathering increasing strength since Dalkeith Thistle then Bonnyrigg Rose decided to move earlier this year.

The EoS look likely to have two full Tier 6 sections next season with a distinct possibility that a third Tier 6 section may be necessary if there is a further influx of clubs before midnight on Application Deadline Day, 31st May. Quite a turnaround, and what a reward, after the hammering the league took when it whole-heartedly supported the foundation of the Lowland League.

Hopefully the critics who jumped onto the band-wagon a few years ago will move on gracefully and apologetically. It will very soon be time for reconciliations all round, especially if a number of previously "very reluctant" clubs bite the bullet and come on board for next season.

It's time to bury the hatchets, to be positive and to look to the future!
