pandarilla
Anyone watched this? It might be one of the most depressing yet powerful shows I've ever watched. Sean bean is brilliant and the writing (as always with McGovern) is brilliant. Mr and the missus were kind of in shock at the sheer bleakness of the first episode. But it's very, very good. BBC produced so on iplayer. Any Catholics in denial about the history of sexual abuse should avoid - but weirdly I think it paints the Catholic Church nowadays in a very positive light. Boghead ranter
Gave up after 3 episodes, got bored with it. Amazing how hot Anna Friel looked in episode 1, despite dressing like a skank and sporting a black eye and burst lip for part of it.
BFTD
Never heard of it, but you're receiving a Charles for bringing it to my attention, as I have enjoyed a bit of McGovern in the past...although the last Cracker was pants, but you can't win 'em all. I think Priest still isn't available on DVD, which is a real shame.

Jimmy Baker
Bleak yes, boring no. Exceptional drama, one of the best things on TV recently. Sean Bean was outstanding.
Cruyff14
I'd be amazed if Sean Bean doesnt win a Bafta for it.

pandarilla
We finished this last night. Absolutely superb. A touch of 'it's a wonderful life' about the last episode. I'm not ashamed to admit having to wipe away a tear. 6 x 1 hour episodes. Intense but I highly recommend.
