Jetpop and an advert on the beach were both terrible ideas. The advert was entirely Kurran's doing. And he maintained it was good. That was the way it played out through the second half of the programme, but to me it was based pretty much on an earlier suggestion by another member of the team. I wasn’t paying much attention for a bit of the first half of it though, so could be wrong, but the beach advert theme I’m sure was suggested by someone else? You could be right. Funnily enough I missed the first ten minutes tonight. I thought the criticism for Highway to Hell was OTT also. It was a play on the first part of the ad being about a Hellish flight. They should probably have had something smoother for the second part though. I didnt like either concept to be honest. I dont see how you can guarantee a noise free flight. In fact away from obvious holiday destinations and stag/hen flights, which arent generally business destinations, in ny experience most flights are pretty quiet anyway. Its not really a usp. That said for all its flaws it was nowhere near as bad as the Party Flight! I thought too much was made of the name. Was Jetpop really that bad? I dont associate "pop" with explosions and crashing. There were however three huge cockups with the campaign: 1 - That ad was not only awful, it had as much to do with an airline as I do lying on my couch right now. How Kuran continued to think it was great defies belief. 2 - Promoting partying and drinking in the air? Really? With so many air rage incidents around now? And 3 - That uniform !!! It was bordering on pornographic. If one if the guys had suggested skimpy outfits for stewardesses on a plane he would have been crucified for it. What on earth possessed them? Did they think about it for 10 seconds? Alcohol and half naked stewardesses in the air, thats definitely not asking for trouble, no! Jackie just about managed to carry it off because she is pretty flat chested. A bustier lady would have been indecent. Kuran had to go. His management was awful, he was in cuckoo land. I felt a little sorry for Khadija and Daniel. He basically ignored all their ideas and did what he wanted. They were damned if they went along with it and danned if they didnt. Even Claude stood up for Khadija in the Boardroom. Camilla was a little fortunate but Jackie was the real bullet dodger. The uniform was mostly her and if she had been brought back in she might have gone too. Shocker of an effort from them. Just having a plainer uniform would’ve made it look even better in my eyes. Jetpop was horrendous from the word go. MSU Posted November 8, 2018 Share Posted November 8, 2018 There's probably something in the psychology of people that prevents them airing their opinion in a group when someone makes a terrible suggestion, and due to the lack of putting their necks out and making an alternate suggestion, the terrible suggestion becomes a decision. Surely Highway to Hell was obviously a dreadful choice, same with Jetpop. Did Lord Sugar make his usual "I've written books on advertising" gag? Didn't catch it this year. Reckon Khadija will be gone next if her team loses. She's already been branded as difficult to work with, by Sugar and her colleagues, and the preview for next week's episode showed her in at least a couple of shouting matches. So unless it's a swerve she'll be gone next. Daniel hasn't been PM yet and apart from the usual bluster hasn't really contributed anything to any task. Camilla is also lucky to still be there. Jetpop and the utterly inappropriate uniform were her ideas and she was also the one pretty much behind the dreadful trainer design the previous week (although luckily for her, her team won). I seem to remember she was the winning PM for the doughnut task but that her team's doughnuts were terrible as well and they only won due to the other team being even worse. I wouldn't be surprised if she took a backseat for the next week or two to get some heat off her as one more bad creative idea from her could see her go. Sarah Ann does f**k all every week but does have a PM victory to her name. The rest have all been pretty mediocre with some good and some bad showings. None of them has stood out at all so far IMO so you could probably make a case for firing any of them at this point.
