That Jackson article is howling. I stopped reading after this:

Quote

Derek McInnes will be forced to resign from his position at Aberdeen in order to clinch a return to Rangers.

Record Sport can reveal the Pittodrie boss and right-hand man Tony Docherty have been left with no option but to rip up their own contracts if McInnes wants to open talks about becoming Pedro Caixinha’s replacement.

A stunning revelation there from tendermeatballs.

McInnes is oblivious to the risk he is taking here if indeed he does tender his resignation to facilitate his appointment as sevco manager.

In the current situation of players available to both sevco & Sellick it is obvious there is a big difference in favour of Sellick at the moment. So for McInnes to close the gap he would require a substantial transfer fund that sevco seem incapable of providing, if they do somehow find a budget that would allow sevco to bring in players to mount a challenge to the current Sellick team, Sellick in their current position of being in a different ball park regarding financial stability could then make more funds available to Rodgers to strengthen his squad also, which would counteract sevco's signings and restore the gap currently in place.

This in all probability would lead to McInnes failing to disrupt Sellicks dominance and would result in sevconians demanding his removal as manager, if this was to actually play out as I am predicting McInnes would be finished in a professional capacity, as I couldn't foresee any club offering him a job in fear he would jump ship at a offer from a more attractive club/ proposition in the future.

That's probably true, but if McInnes wants to leave (and everyone has accepted that he does) then I seriously doubt if the Dons' board will stop him.

If he does go  then make sure you get the dosh up front.

Not quite so basic as that, but it is obvious that Sellick have a far greater spending capability than sevco presently have, it then comes down to which of McInnes or Rodgers is able to get the most out of the players at their disposal, going by the direct competition between the two Rodgers appears to hold the upper hand due to the points difference between the two clubs last season compared to the points difference between McInnes Aberdeen side and Sellick under Ronny.

Pity.

I was anticipating a The Celtic after they spent money they didn't have and then the Green Journey Back.

Oh well...

Recent events would suggest that Sevco's immediate goal is not to catch Celtic but to weaken Aberdeen, to secure second place for the foreseeable.

Possibly but will that be enough for the deluded loyal who not only think  sevco are Rangers but that sevco are a still as big a club as oldco were during the cheating years

Something the ugly sisters have been proficient at for years, Sellicks recruitment of Hayes at the end of last season being a very recent occurrence of this particular activity.

I don't get Sellick fans claims he is not Sellicks class when their beloved Brendan clearly thought he was, imo it was a deliberate act to weaken Aberdeen and therefore lessen the competition.

Gambling that they get a cup final and and into Europe so they can up the season tickets and ease the debt. Can see a 2 game Europa league run on the cards again.

Absolutely not. Twitter has quite a few of the dimwits stating that the UCL anthem will be heard at Ibrox soon!

Celtic and Rangers/Sevco have never really been rivals. They've always been business partners, ready to band together and screw over the rest of us long before doing anything that would inconvenience each other.
