Sir Tarmo
Fort William hosting Hill of Beath and Golspie hosting Carluke Rovers in the Scottish Cup this weekend meaning their fixture between each other is postponed. I imagine Hill of Beath will probably beat Fort William but Golspie have a better chance. Are Carluke the only Tier 10 (bottom of the pyramid) side in the cup? They’re in the bottom half of the bottom tier in the West. Great chance for Inverness Athletic to pull away at the top with a nice home fixture while Invergordon (and Thurso also) aren’t playing. I can only assume this was because of a potential Scottish Cup tie if they had beaten Culter? Edited August 29 by Sir Tarmo
Sir Tarmo
What a win for Orkney! Seems Inverness Athletic stretching their lead as expected.

Mackie The Staggie
Was back at North Kessock for the Inverness Athletic vs Bunllidh Thistile, not often I get to shoot a North Caley game in bright sunlight. Think Athletic are going to be the most likely to be a challenger to Invergordon, they have a few refuges from the Loch Ness (well, the ones who never got picked up by a few Highland league sides).
Sir Tarmo
Only two NCL games this weekend. Fort-Invergordon is at Lochaber High School 3G cage, due to the Ben Nevis Hill Race. I think they played there last match too. Edited September 6 by Sir Tarmo

Sir Tarmo
Quick turnaround for a few sides. Chance for Invergordon to go top of the league, which they very likely will, but should stay there for a while as both them and Athletic are playing on the same days (along with Athletic involvement in the NOS) until they meet in early November. Bunillidh back in action after a game off, against Alness, should be a comfortable home win to keep them unbeaten. The only game that should be slightly competitive is Halkirk United looking to remain the 4th 100% side with the Anglers vs Vikings extremely very North derby against Thurso. Halkirk have started well, but haven’t really played anyone in the league yet, and lost in the cup at the weekend. Thurso only have a win over winless Clach while they’ve seen back to back thumpings from Athletic. Edited September 9 by Sir Tarmo

So Athletic will stay top for the timebeing.

Sir Tarmo
Anyone know why Invergordon game is off? Could have 4 teams level on 9 points at the top after tomorrow night if Halkirk win the Caithness derby and if (likely when) Alness beat Bunillidh. Going by Bunillidh’s results so far it wouldn’t shock me if Alness go outright top. Edited September 10 by Sir Tarmo

With Alness at home, maybe Clach A couldn't find a ground for an evening kick-off? They sometimes play at Inverness Royal Academy, maybe it wasn't available.
Sir Tarmo
So much for a good derby… Halkirk 9-1 Thurso (FT) Alness 6-1 Bunillidh I think this now means Athletic, Halkirk and Alness all have identical points and GD…if Alness result stays the same Edited September 11 by Sir Tarmo
Sir Tarmo
Alness go top as expected with a big win…we now have four sides level on 9 points at the top, with Athletic and Halkirk having completely identical records!
