What Thompson and Venables did was awful, and it should not be forgotten, but why is it so much worse than what happened to Victoria Climbie, or Lauren Wright? A better question is this one why did wealthy Samantha Ford who murdered her two young children get 10 years (eligible to be out in five)? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-kent-49370253 While Louise Porton who was not wealthy got life with a minimum of 32 years for murdering her two children. I think it was the fact that they were so young when they did it. Kids killing kids, especially the way they did it, was extremely shocking back then.I think if they had gotten out and disappeared like Thomson seems to have done then there would have been less of an uproar but since the parole board has obviously screwed up in regards to releasing Venables people are rightly questioning why he was let out. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
